JUST HOLD ON

CHAPTER 1

I woke up to a voice screaming "Wake up sleepy head it's already 7 and you don't wanna miss your bus on the first day of school. Get your lazy bum out of the bed!!".

I squint my eyes to see the time and I was like shit I don't have much time. Arggggg why do I have school this early I mumble and wake up. I push my sister to the other side of the bed.

We share a room because we both are shit scared to sleep alone. 

I get into the shower and get done with the business. I then literally kicked my sister to wake her up. She curses me while she rubs her eyes and walks away like a drunk person.

"Hey Al!" he said and sat next to me.

Oh I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alexis Carter. I'm in my junior year, high school. 

My sister, Elizabeth Carter and we call her Beth because she doesn't like us calling her Eli. Both go to the same high school. She is in her freshman year. My mom is a pediatrician and her own clinic and she is a well-known doctor, Dr. Rosaline Carter Scott.  My dad, Harry Carter is a businessman and he along with his friend own a big company. My Granny is Grace Carter and is 77 years old sweetheart at the same time a pain in the ass.  So yeah that's my family.

And, the guy sitting next to me is my all-time crush since kindergarten. We have known each other since that time. Yes, because it was his dad who was my dad's business partner. He is in his senior year.

He waves his hand in front of me I come out of my thoughts and look at him, "What's up Adrian?" 

He answered "Woah you are in a good mood today."

"Yes and yes, I am in a good mood, I mean was in a good mood until I saw you." I teased.

"Ouch that hurt babe." He says.

"Did you eat?" He just nodded and I know that he is lying. I took out my box which my mom packed for him because I told her he would not eat at his home.

"If you are hungry why don't you eat your breakfast Adrian?"

"You know I wake up late and I have to always run behind the bus instead of waiting for it" he shrugged. 

I laughed nodding my head. He finishes it and take my scarf to wipe his mouth when I pull back the scarf forgetting the fact that I wrapped it around my neck and I pulled the other side while he pulled the other one. I chocked very badly and Adrian had a horrified look on his face when he let go of it and removed the scarf gently and gave me some water. 

We reached school and the whole way he was lecturing me that I'm so dumb to wear a scarf that way... I could not take it anymore and I snapped "You were the one to pull it Adrian not me. If you wanted to wipe your mouth you could have asked me a tissue. Now stop lecturing me and go to your fucking class."

 He laughed his lungs out "You know. You..." 

I was getting impatient "Tell me already Adrian". 

"See you later for lunch Al" he kissed my forehead.

When I was getting my books out my friends ran towards me. "Hey girls" I squealed hugging the two of them. "Ooo, you're blushing girl" Britney said while wiggling her eyebrows while Natalie was smirking. I was thinking what to tell them when the school bell went off.

Miss Sandy is one heck of a teacher. She is the most boring teacher I have ever seen.  I felt something hit the side of my head so I turned to see what it was.I got a scrunch of paper. I looked back to see Brit signalling me to read it.

 I opened the paper and read "Why the fuck where you blushing? Don't think for a second you escaped us" I mentally face palmed and turned towards them. 

I opened my mouth to tell something when a screeching voice cut mine. "Miss Carter what is more interesting than the math class" Now I'm done for good.

I just kept my head down and didn't tell a word the only sentence I heard before the bell went off was "Detention today for an hour" with that she left.

I was super pissed. I turned to see Brit she had a look of guilt in her eyes.

When I was waiting for the lunch my sister called me "Hey sis what's up?" 

"Lex I'm not feeling good. I think I'll puke anytime now"

"What the hell." I told my friends that my sister is in some sort of emergency and left from there. 

"Beth where are you now?"

"First floor washroom. Please come fast." She sobs and my heart breaks. 

I ran to the first floor when I bumped into someone. I didn't even look up and mumbled a sorry and was about to leave when a huge hand stopped me.

I turned to see Simon holding my hands with a smirk on his face. "Simon this is not the time I have to go my sister is not feeling well I have to look for her." 

I tried getting his hands off my wrist but he didn't seem to budge. Anger boiled in me when I didn't care what will be the consequences when I kicked him. HARD. 

I ran towards the girl's washroom. The sight in front of me brought tears. 

My dad came from his office to pick her up and left. It was almost the end of the day and I had to go to the detention in an hour.

I took my phone out to see 10 missed calls and 5 messages from Adrian.

I called Adrian "Oh God, is she fine?" 

"Yes. I am heading to detention now. Will catch up later."
