CHAPTER 17

Nat and Fahad left and so did Scar and Jake. Dan, Brit and I were left out. Actually they were waiting for Gideon to arrive so we could leave.

I wore the same red dress I wore for the last party where that old cow abused me. I wanted to erase that memory so I wore this. And this is the only dress in which I look hot to be honest. I wore my hair down with minimal make up due to the recent acnes that showed up.

"Where is he?" Dan asked frustrated.

"You guys, you don't have to wait. You can leave."

"No." they both answered and the bell rang.

"What took you so long man?" Dan asked.

"Someone did not want me to take Lexi to the party." He looked at me and I understood it was Adrian.

"Should have known." Dan said dubiously.

"What do you mean?" Brit asked.

"He has had hots for Lexi ever since I've known you guys." He said as if he was greeting us in the morning.

I looked at him shocked. "No, he doesn't." Brit said. And I agreed.

"You girls are so blind and clueless." Gideon answered.

"You have no idea how long I had to struggle to make her think I like her." Dan sighed looking at Gideon and they laughed.

"Anyway, he would have had but now he is with Lisa. So, let's go" Gideon stated and my heart dropped.

On our way to the gathering I asked Gideon "When would the engagement be?"

"I think after a week or two. He told that he is leaving to Cali day after to talk to his parents. I am sorry Lexi." He said.

"That's okay. I just.. Maa, Adrian's mom always thought that we both were going to end up getting married. I don't know how she will react." I said. Hope she doesn't give them permission. Then sighed and thought about it as his best friend and I had to be happy for him.

The venue was a suite which was huge as fuck and it was thrice the size of a normal place. I was in awe with the ceiling where a chandelier hung anf the lighting were perfect. I felt it was too much for just a few people. But there were bartenders, waitresses, cooks and DJ player. It had an exact party set up near the DJ's set. It was overall good.

"Do you think you've overcome your fear." Adrian asked when I was at the bar for some water.

"I think so. I did attend some in college. But after a while I did not fell like going. It is just that I am not comfortable with dad's business meetings." I said.

"Hm. So I saw you with Gideon."

"Ah. Yes. He went to talk to Vincent." I said.

If you think Gideon was hot, Vincent was exactly like Gideon. He was like a Greek god and his girlfriend is so lucky to have him. He has these green eyes and I reacted the exact same way I did when I met Gideon and he laughed telling that he hoped to see me do that.

I was so embarrassed. I ran from there and sat at the bar.

"Heard you are flying home day after." I said.

"Yeah. Gotta talk about Lisa and me." he said looking around. "Ah there she is. Lisa, come here." He waved to her.

Is it too late to run away? She was so beautiful, even prettier than when I saw her with him last time.

"Lisa. Adrian's girlfriend." She extended her hand.

I didn't want to be a bitch. She seemed so sweet. "Alexis. Adrian's best friend?" I asked looking at him.
