JUST HOLD ON

CHAPTER 18

"Lexi wake up. It's dinner time." Beth shouted. 

Already. 

I woke up and went to the dinning table and looked around and laughed at everyone. Because they were also in the same state as me. Drowsy.

Mommy ordered pizza because she did not have the energy to prepare dinner. Dad got a call.

 "Evening Philip....Ohhh....Okay 6 yes got it. See you.".

My mom raised an eyebrow. 

"Oh it was Philip. We have a party to attend tomorrow." Oh I'm happy I don't have to go. 

I hate parties. "So you guys have to pair up with someone." He said looking at Beth and me. 

What I almost chocked on my food. 

"What dad you know I don't like parties like this. Please I don't wanna go." I begged. 

"No can do Lexi. You have to come. It's kinda important to us. So I expect everyone to be there." I huffed. 

I can't go against this. He was very serious. So I gave in. 

It's not the first party I'm going to this is the third one. The first party was good. I enjoyed it alot. 

The second one was which made me hate parties. 

I was 12 at that time. I had worn a long gown and was walking with my sister beside me. Everything went on well. I went to use the washroom that's when I was pulled somewhere and the guy started twisting my hand. I tried pulling away but he did not leave me. 

I stamped his feet and he went back a little I took that chance and ran away. No one knows this not even my sister or Adrian. I did not tell anyone because I felt so weak.

I tried going to another party but I got panic attack that I took my sister and went out. I had flashbacks of that scenario. We then took a taxi and went home with our granny. 

From then I never went to parties. When anyone asks I would tell I will get bored or make some story up. 

But this is like the first time my dad is forcing me so I made up my mind to go. I will take Adrian.

"Whom are you taking Beth?" 

"I don't know. I will go with Jess. It's not like only boy and girl should right." She said looking at dad he just raised his hands. 

Okay done. I went to my room to ask Adrian. 

I already had a message from him for the same. I sent him a message saying I'm in. 

Okay I don't have a dress shit. I went to dad's room. "Dad I don't have a dress." 

He laughed and gave me his card. I kissed his cheeks and went back and kept the card in my purse. 

I thought I will go tomorrow with Nat and Brit. I then called them on conference.

"Hey Lexi. At last you had the time to call us." Brit laughed. 

I chuckled and we spoke about how we spent the holidays and I told them about Adrian's gift and they asked about the picture which he uploaded on his page. I told them he did that because he wanted to escape from random chicks. And they started shipping us. 

Like seriously they came up with ship names too. One of it was Alian, what the hell. Then we settled at Adrexis.

These girls. "Okay listen girls we are going shopping tomorrow. Have a party to go." 

"What you and party. Woah" Brit shouted.

"Haha ya sure Lexi we will come. " Nat told. 

We then bid goodbye and went back to sleep.
