ALEXIS POV
It was graduation today and our whole family flew here to see us walk the stage and get our certificates. Maa and uncle Philip took Jake as their own after knowing about Julie but he kindly refused telling he is stable enough and mature enough to handle his life. Though he was going to spend the next 6 months at Adrian's place.
Fahad was staying back while we all flew back to Cali in the next two days. I am going to miss that asshole. Though we promised to visit each other frequently. It would not be a problem seeing that Adrian had to make quite a few decisions for the business. Our business was flourishing and helped Gideon, Cole and Lisa's business to grow too. We all grew quite close over the months and I am going to miss them a lot too.
After the graduation, we went in search of our parents and they were all together. Dan's mom broke into tears looking at Dan all broody and so did Brit's mom.
My mom was in tears since she arrived here and Maa was trying to control her. My dad and Beth trying to calm down my Nana. I looked over to see Nat hugging her parents. Jake went to Uncle Philip and he the proud dad eyes and I could not be happier for him. Everything was falling into place and we were once again back to the happy family we always were.
~~~
The next day we all roamed around the city and had quite a fun time. We went to the ever-crowded Times Square and shopped to our hearts content. Our parents were proud of us and we could see it and feel it.
We were at a restaurant now and having booked a huge table to fit in everyone. We were enjoying and laughing and munching.
I excused myself to the washroom. They all became quite when I entered and Beth was staring at me cheekily. I looked at her and asked her 'what is wrong?' without uttering a word.
We could understand eachother even when we were separate for years. She shook her head nothing and I shrugged.
This was our last stop before we flew back to Cali. Today was the only day Nana decided to tag along after graduation. We were at Central Park. We were playing and goofing around. We were playing hide & seek; the ones where you tie a cloth over the eyes.
It was my turn and I was turned around in circles; ready to go. I started going in random directions. I tried hard on focusing on the voices. It was only us kids playing with Maa who herself was a kid.
I could hear Scarlet's voice on my right so I ran in that direction but then I felt someone touch my arms and tried to hold them. It was all fun.
All of a sudden, the voices stopped. I could only hear the voices of other toddlers and heir parents none from mine. I stood there, frozen. This was truly a nightmare.
Knowing that I hate the dark they made the knot a little loose and kept a light-coloured cloth so that light could pass. I knew I should have never agreed to it. Stupid Adrian and his promise to show me something adventurous in the bed tonight.
Fuck it. I said to myself and removed the cloth off my eyes and took a while to adjust to the sunlight. I looked around to find them infront of me, all the parents sitting on the benches while the other kneeling on the ground. Maa again comforting my mom and granny. While Adrian was no where to be found. I turned around in search of him.
I turned to my back to see Adrian kneeling on the ground with a smile on his face. I could not move.
"Alexis Carter. I know I have caused you a lot of trouble and hurt you in many ways. I know you have forgiven me but I also know that you are still not over it. I understand that. And I will spend my whole life making it up to you." He pulled out the ring case opening it and holding it infront of me.
I looked at the ring. It was a plain silver band with a small stone embedded on it and words engraved "Always have".
"Will you marry me Al?" he asked in the most smoothest tone.
"Yes, yes a thousand times yes." I shouted jumping and going crazy.
He laughed rising up and sliding the ring down my ring finger and kissing it.
"I love you." I said hugging him.
"I love you." He replied and pressed his lips to mine.
"Whoa.. No PDA please." He was pulled away from me by my dad. No wonder my mom was crying.
I looked around to find Maa crying too. My friends were emotional and they all hugged me pulling me into their arms and squeezing the life out of me.
Everyone were jumping with joy and happiness and just like that I found the best people I could ever ask for right here. No one else mattered.
