JUST HOLD ON

CHAPTER 3

I looked up at him then figured out the intention behind his mischievous smile. Then it all fell in place. 

This Steph girl is behind him and he is obviously not interested so he is using me to get rid of her. And I had my mind drifted to something else.

"You-your-you're dating? I heard you don't do dates" she almost whispered the last part.

"Uhm yes. But now he is." I smirked. 

He gave me a slight squeeze on my waist making me go stiff.

"Oh I didn't know. But you know Adrian if she can't satisfy you..you know where to come." She waved her hand seductively and walked away swaying her hips.

"She had such fake boobs. If I had a pin I would have deflated them in no time."

Adrian was laughing so loud that the whole place  could hear it. 

The anger and seeing him laugh like that subsided my emotion.

 I didn't feel like crying anymore. As long as I am with him I'll be happy.

 I took a bit of my pizza and then my vision blurred . I could see Adrian only through a blurry view. 

 My mouth was on fire. 

My ears went hot.

 My nose started heating up and I felt tears running down my cheeks. 

It was then I realized that it was me who did this to myself. 

The next thing I know was Adrian's fingers on my cheeks rubbing my tears away. 

He gave me water to drink which made it even more spicy. 

He ran out and came back in 5 mins with a mango juice in his hand. He made me drink it .

It helped me a lot and I was getting my senses back. 

I looked at Adrian to see him holding back his laugh. "Laugh. Go on laugh at me Adrian I'm waiting" that was enough to make him laugh. 

 He had tears in his eyes because he laughed so much.

"You you" He could not even talk " you are so funny. I told you not to take that. Take mine I'll take yours." 

"No Adrian. It's too spicy. Let's buy another I'll give this to my sister she will love it "

"She is already suffering from food poisoning you wanna give her this" 

Oh shit I forgot.

 "Oh ya"

"Sister goals" Adrian mocked.

"Shut up"

"Take mine and give yours"

We were walking to my home as it was just 25 mins walk .

"How the hell did you eat that?"

"I'm not a baby like you babe. I'm a strong man" he said showing off his muscles.

"Ya right"

We walked in silence for some more time.

"How is Jessica?"

Jessica is Adrian 's younger sister. She is the sweetest person I've ever met. 

She is exactly copy of Adrian except his attitude of-course . 

He loves her so much.

 I love her like I love my Beth .

"She is doing good"

"And Maa?"

I call Adrian's mother Camilla Philip as "Maa" she is like a second mother to me. 

Since I know him from childhood we used to stay over at each others house. 

Then stopped eventually when we reached a certain age. But we do stay but not sleep like before.

"Fine"

He told it with such a tone that everyone but me could easily believe him. But me being me his best friend knew better than to believe him.

"Hmm. I haven't seen her for a long time. Can I come over tomorrow after school?"

"Uh tomorrow is difficult . How about some-other time. I will let you know."

Busted. He is hiding something from me. This is the first time he denied me.

"Okay. What's going on?" I stared at him throwing daggers with my eyes.

" What what's going on" he asked nonchalantly.

"Are you hiding something?" 

"Nope"

I didn't tell anything. 

We reached my house he came in too. He went straight to kitchen and took my chocolate box which only he is allowed to touch and begins to eat one.

Then my mom comes stomping "Listen young lady. Next time don't you dare send a message like that and switch off your phone. You both will make me look old in no time" 

She then saw Adrian and went to hug him " How are you Adrian dear?"

"I'm fine Mamma" 

Oh and he calls my mom Mamma.

"How's mom sister and your dad?"

Before answering he looked at me "They are all doing well Mamma."

"Mommy I had pizza so I'm heading to bed."

"How is the little devil?" Adrian asked.

"Oh ya how is she" I asked.

" She is better. But she wanted to sleep in my room so I tucked her there."

"Whatttttttttt I'm gonna have to sleep alone!!!!!" I shouted.

My mom nodded.

"Noooooooooo" 

I looked at her with horror filled eyes and Adrian was laughing his ass off.

"Oh stop being dramatic. Stay in mine for today" my mom teased.

"Mommy you know I get sleep only I two bedrooms in this whole world. Adrian's and mine. And you know I can't sleep alone. Please Mommy do something " I pleaded.

" Okay I'll let granny to sleep in your room"

"That's worse than devils sleeping next to me" I joked. 

The actual reason is she uses some oil for her joints and that stinks. 

"You're such a drama queen Al" Adrian mocked.

"Shut up Adrian " 

He raised his hand in surrender and smiled.

"Okay have a movie night with Adrian and bunk the first hour or something"

I squealed hugging her "Thank you thank you, best mom or what" she chuckled. 

"Come on Adrian I'll show your side of bed" I ran up the stairs.

"Oh Al and her side of bed " he sang.

"Shut up"

We were all tucked in and ready to watch the movie. We were watching 'The Greatest Showman',

 That was one heck of a movie. I didn't even feel sleepy for a second when the movie was running.

Then we were watching 'Fist Fight'.

The only thing I remember before everything went dark was the police telling that the drug was not molly but aspirin.

 I remember laughing before darkness engulfed me.
