JUST HOLD ON

CHAPTER 22

I run to the shower and changed to jeans and my black top which was his favourite and ran to school. 

I texted Brit and Nat on my way and told them my plan and they were very happy.

My mind went to the moment where; "Lexi"

"Yes dad" I said eagerly. 

"Just remember that whatever happens in our life happens for a reason." 

Weird "Okay?" I said dragging the "AY"

He hugged me and kissed my forehead "Take care. If anything please call me." He smiled and went to his room.

My thoughts came to an end when the bus jerked.

Ah he is gonna come now. 

Should I tell him now? Should I wait? What should I do?

I was sweating and shivering and hoping I don't mess this up.

When I opened my eyes we were at school already.

Where is he?

Maybe he reached before us. I searched for him but to no avail.

"He might be running late as usual Lexi. We are gonna be late fro the class. Hurry up." Brit cooed.

Its lunch time and I have still not found Adrian. "Hey Alexis."

"Hey Dan. You know you can call me Lexi, right?"

"Okay. Yeah" he chuckled.

"How are you holding?"

"Uh im fine"

Another weird thing on my WEIRD THINGS list.

"You seem to be in a happy mood." He asked.

"Yup, I am." I smiled thinking about Adrian.

"She is gonna confess her feelings to Adrian." Nat squealed

Dan had a shocked expression but quickly covered it with a smile.

"How are you Lexi. Are you fine?"

I turned to see Jake gasping for air. What the . What is happening today

"I am fine." I said annoyed and he hugged me out of no where.

I pushed him. "What is wrong with you?" I shouted.

"Adr....." he was cut off by Dan shouting.

"Shut up Jake it is not the right time."

"Adrian and Fahad." 

I panicked. What happened to them,. I pulled on Jake's collar and asked "Tell.me.fast."

"They dropped out of school." They what?

"And left the town." He huffed.

My hands on his shirt loosened and he held me tight before Dan pulled me away from him. 

"You knew? You knew yet you did not have the audacity to tell me. I hate you Dan." I cried and he immediately pulled me into a hug and I cried . 

I pushed him off and ran to the washroom with Nat and Brit following me. 

I told them to leave me alone fro a moment they were skeptical at first and when I pleaded they had to give in.

Someone entered the washroom and latched it. I lifted my head from the basin to look at who that was.

"Get out Jake."

"Listen Alexis I know you are upset. But it is true. Ask Dan."

"I don't want anyone near me please leave me alone." I cried.

"I should have told you this morning when you were searching for him."

When he said that it hit me like a train that I was about to tell him my feelings. 

I fell down crying and eventually passed out.
