CHAPTER 9

Adrian's POV

When I was on my bed, I thought about how fast life has changed.

Not long ago I was a senior at high school, now I am a college student and going to own a company in sometime.

Might have been the most irrational decisions I have ever taken. But it is for the best. By now everyone knows about my plan except Alexis.

Beth caught me when I was on call with Jess. I had to literally beg her not to tell Al.

When I heard that she was dating Jake, I lost it. I was so determined to go back and kick his ass. Fahad had to literally slap me to make me understand that Dan is there to take care of her. I wanted to call her and apologise.

But the only problem was that I know that she would throw everything just so that she can be by my side.

She was the one who taught me to love myself. She was there when my dad lied that my mum was busy with some work.

When my mum came back, I had a hard time coping up with her. I started to ignore her. At that time, I just wanted her to feel the pain I was feeling.

Al was the one who taught me to overcome them and love myself and my mum. She was there for me when I needed her and now Jake is there for her.

I was happy when I heard that they broke up but hoped she was fine.

"Thinking about Lexi?" Fahad asked entering my room with a bottle of Whiskey.

"Yeah and how funny life was after that." I replied.

"True. I would say luck was on our side and Lisa trusted us enough."

I nodded.

"I am very grateful to Gideon and Vincent. If not for them we would not have come this far."

"Yeah and we would be caught the day Lexi tried to spy on us." He laughed.

I laughed so hard on hearing that.

"I know. I should have known she would do something like this. She was always curious."

"Exactly." We laughed.

"Gideon showing us their pick was the best part. You should have seen the anger on your face. You literally punched that poor guy. But he had quite good reflexes."

When Gideon showed me the picture, I could not stop myself when I saw how close he had pulled her towards him and how comfortable she looked.

I wasn't being reasonable but later on made Gideon send me the pic and cropped his face out.

"Do not even remind me about that."

"I am happy that we will finally get our company back. Our business idea that Julie stole and gave it to Greg." I looked at Fahad who was currently pulling one of my pillows.

"Yeah. I feel a little sad for Julie." Fahad replied for which I fumed.

"Why?"

"Oh. I should have told this to you when Lexi told me. Actually, Julie is not dead."

"What?" I asked shocked.

"Yes, she is Jake's mother. Or should I say she made herself as Jake's mother."

I looked at him confused.

He then explained it to me.

"Wow. She did not learn her lesson even after he ditched her, did she? I am happy that Jake was able to find her true colors at the earliest."

"Yeah. So, you don't hate him?" he smirked.

"I hate him. But not for him being him. I just hate that he was there for Al when I wasn't there. I know how devastated she would be. I am grateful to him too." I said the last part softly.

Fahad chuckled. "He is a good guy."

"I know." I sighed.

"Okay so, we get all the evidence of Greg stealing the idea from your business and Gideon takes it over."

"Right. Then he will be shifting all his ownership to us."

"Yes, then we are on our way back to Cali to see your mother. I was really worried about you not being able to see her at this time."

"Nah it is fine. I am thankful that your parents were there for me."

"Yeah, I knew that they will not let me on my own anywhere."

Fahad's parents shifted to New York when they had an opportunity. His dad's office wanted someone to be the regional head in NY. He thought that was the right opportunity and then they shifted to the place we rented.

"Yeah." I chuckled.

"That is how we get revenge."

"Yeah, he is going to rot in jail forever. One, for stealing an idea and second attempt to murder. I swear if I would have lost mum because of him. I would have shoved a bullet up his nose."

"I would totally support you on that." He smiled.

"Hey, Adrian. I don't think that we will be moving back to California any time soon. We might most probably be settled here. So, I was thinking that maybe you could offer me a job once the company becomes yours." He asked.

"What the fuck?"

"I know I never discussed about not moving back. But."

"Shut up. I do not mind you staying here forever. Did you really think I would give you a job there?" I asked.

"I am sorry. I thought that I helped you enough for getting atleast a job in your company." He said angrily.

"You idiot. Did you really think I would give you a job? Nope, you would be the one giving out jobs." I smiled at him.

"What?"

"Yeah, as soon as we are back from Cali, I would be taking 50% shares, Lisa will be getting 5% and you the remaining 45%. And I was worried as to how I would take care this business. Now that you are most likely staying here. You will handle the whole business along with me. I would take up our company back in Cali and we will have a partnership with this company. We might tag Lisa's cosmetic business too. We could help her with promotions and deliveries."

He looked at me and then pounced at me.

"Adrian, I love you so much. Will you please marry me?" he joked.

"Yes Fahad. I will marry you." I joked back.

"Then come on." He pulled me and we stood infront of the bed.

"Will you Adrian, take Fahad as your lawfully wedded husband." Fahad asked standing beside me.

"Yes, I do." I chuckled.

"Will you Fahad, take Adrian as you lawfully wedded husband?" Fahad asked and jumped to stand infront of me before answering "I do."

He jumped back to the priest position and said "You may now kiss the groom"

He then kissed me.

"Fuck you." I said pushing him back.

"Yes baby. That is the next step."

We are definitely drunk. I remember laughing at something Fahad telling that we are drunk as fuck, before everything went black.
