CHAPTER 28

Adrian POV

"Adrian, do you really wanna go today? We have an important meeting with Mr. Coleman." Fahad boomed.

"Yes, Fahad. I really wanna do it today. I wanna see mom. I really miss her." I said.

"Okay. I will try to re-schedule this meeting." He sighed.

"Thank you."

I had few hours to go before I could leave to the airport. So, I went to take some rest.

When I was resting, I just thought about how things went from such a good time to a time of distress.

My thoughts went back to the day I decided to leave my town.

**FLASHBACK**

"You sure, Fahad?" I asked him.

"Damn sure. I would want to be with you, wherever you go, whatever decisions you take, I am with you." He said.

"But who would look after Al?" I asked sighing.

"Dude, she has Brit and Nat and now add Dan too. You, you will have no one besides me." He said cockily.

"Yes. I know." I said sighing again.

"So, it is up to you now brother." He said patting my back and left me alone to think of it.

"Dad. I have decided that I will leave to NY and start my college there. You can tell your friend that Fahad and I are ready." I said.

"Okay. You telling anyone?" he asked.

"You, Harry pop, Jess and Dan." I said.

"Who is Dan? And why aren't you telling Alexis?"

"No dad. Then she would also want to come with us. I don't want her to leave everything behind, for me. Dan is Britney's boyfriend." I said.

"And promise me not to tell anyone until I am ready to tell it." I added.

"Zipped. But do come and meet us frequently. Okay?"

"Is that even a suggestion. Even if you don't wanna see my face, you are forced to no matter what."

He pulled me into a hug. "I am gonna miss you kiddo. Don't work too hard. Okay? Take care of yourself." He said.

"Jess, you awake?"

"Yes." She said sniffing.

"Please don't make it harder. I am already finding it hard to leave you guys." I said pulling her in my arms and she sobbed.

" I will come to meet you at least once a week. I promise."

"You better. Else I will hunt you down and kick your ass." She mocked .

"Oh you would not do that."

"Is it better if I tell Alexis about it?" she had a smirk on her face.

"I better get going. Gotta meet Al before I leave."

"You will come back in the morning right."

"Yes Jess." I said and left the room.

**FLASHBACK ENDS**

It was time to leave for the airport. I change and go to the airport.

"Hey Dad." I said once I reached the hospital and found him doing some work on his laptop.

"Adrian. My boy." He said and hugged me.

"how are you?" I asked him.

"Okay. How about you?"

"I am fine too. Mom?"

"She is the same Adrian. Her wounds have healed but she is still in coma. No development on that." He said sighing.

"She will be fine Dad. No need to worry." I said

"You know Lexi will be here in an hour or two, right?" he asked.

"Yes dad." I sighed.

I miss her. I miss her a lot.

When I was with her, I never realized what she is in my life. I thought it is just mere attraction.

But I guess it is true what they say, that you will never understand the worth of a person when they are with you.

I sighed again.

"Dad, call her and tell her to ping you when she is nearing the hospital." He nodded.

Then I spend sometime with dad talking about how the classes and the work was going on and after a while Al called to let dad that she will be reaching in 5 mins.

I take that as my cue to leave and wait in the parking lot for dad and Jess. I am gonna surprise Jess today. She has no clue of my arrival.

I could not meet her for a month and she was very angry when I hung up the call yesterday. Harry pop helped me a lot by sneaking the phone to Jess so I could talk to her.

I saw Al and Jess parking. When Al got out of the I could not help but looking at her longingly. Her hair was shorter than I last saw it. And she was wearing glasses.

She took out all the things balancing so carelessly that I thought she might fall but thank God Jess took away some things which made it easier for her to walk.

I really want to know what she felt, heck I don't even know what I feel.

They leave and I wait for Dad and Jess to come. When I spot them I quickly go and hide behind the front seats. The leg space is huge enough to fit me.

"So, you still angry on Adrian?" I hear my Dad asking.

"Yes, yes very very very much. He doesn't show up for a month Dad. A month." She huffs and sits inside.

I wait for my dad to get in too and drive away from the hospital; then it was time to scare the daylights out of her.

"Ahhhh" I shouted shaking Jess's shoulders.

She screeched like the Demogorgon from Stranger Things.

My Dad was aware of this and I am thankful, else; I don't even want to imagine.

"What the hell, you pig." She screamed.

Dad pulled over because Jess was so adamant to stop the car. She got down the car and pulled me out too.

She then jumped and hit my head. Like twice. She jumped like a kangaroo.

My dad on the other hand laughed his ass off.

"You asshole." and then she hugged me.

We then went to the park and ate at Mom's favorite place and headed back.

Damn, I miss my family.

I waited down when Jess and dad went up. I was hiding behind a pillar.

Al came out and went to the Café to buy something, so I took this as an opportunity to see Jess.

"Hey, I will be leaving in an hour. I will be busy but I will make sure I will call you." She nodded.

I kiss her forehead and go back to mom's room. When I am almost reaching the stairs I see Al staring right at me.

I just stand there without moving and she turns back and I sprint from there.

Woah! Close escape.

There will be a chapter or 2 from Adrian's POV as to why he ran away to NYC.

BTW I am stressed as hell because i have an internship to do in the month of April and i haven't started looking for any yet..... I just hope I get one.
