CHAPTER 19

In the next few months Fahad and Adrian became quite popular in NYC and so did the business. Everything was back to normal. My classes were going on fine and I had just two more months to graduation and could not be happier. The relief of going back home and staying with my parents made me feel so happy.

Today we all were going out for dinner as couples. It was like a quadruple date. We were at a booth and a waitress came to take our orders. She was gawking at Fahad and trying to get into deeper talks.

"Uhm, I think we are done here. Could you please get us our orders." Nat sneered.

"Okay. Sorry." She mumbled and left. We all were into a fit of laughter.

"Aw, you jealous Nat? God I can not believe that this day has finally come." Brit said laughing.

"I know. She was all like 'I don't wanna date.' 'All men are shit' to being jealous. I can not believe this." I added.

"Shut up guys. Let the lady live." Dan interrupted. He always had a soft spot for Nat. he always was there for her like a big brother protecting her from the evil.

I laughed at my thought.

"You know that you have no reason to get jealous right?" Faddy asked.

She just nodded, "I am just thankful that she did not choose Adrian. She would be on the damn floor with Lexi on top of her with her stash to banish her to hell." She teased making the whole table erupt with laughter.

"Haha very funny." I stuck my tongue out.

"Oh you have no idea how jealous she gets. When we were dating, a girl tried to hit on me even after knowing I was with Lex. Lexi shoved a middle finger to her face and pulled me and left from there. And we had the most amazing night that day." Jake said dreamily. But that was a lie and I could feel Adrian's hands go rigid on my thigh. I decided to play along.

"True. She was really a bitch." I looked at Scar. She was smirking obviously knowing it was a lie.

Adrian was fuming next to me. The next thing I know was Adrian on top of Jake. Jake caught his hand before he could punch him.

"Chill out man. We were playing with you." He looked at me and I nodded shyly.

"You are in big trouble you little devil." Adrian growled pulling Jake up.

That night was truly the most amazing night of my life.

ADRIAN POV

We were splayed on the couch while watching FRIENDS at Adrian's place.

"You read the letter?" I asked.

"Which one?"

"You know, the one I gave on our birthday." I said a little annoyed.

"There were many which one are you referring to?" Now I was annoyed and ran my fingers through my hair.

"The last one. The fucking last one."

"Yeah. I did but not completely. I slept the half way." She said and something broke within me.

"What? You did not read the part where I confessed my feelings for you?" I said before I could stop it.

"Your feelings? What feelings?" at that time I understood she was playing.

Two can play at this game Al.

"Oh never mind." I said and started hogging the popcorn.

She kept looking at me throughout the season we watched. I knew that affected her, me not telling the feeling thing. I knew that because Al being Al would have atleast recited one dialogue which she did not.

When it was done it was already late in the evening. I was frustrated. I needed to know, no I needed to hear that she loves me.

"Uhm. I think it is time for you to leave. It's already late." I said getting up.

"Adrian. I read it. I read the letter." She blurted out.

"I am sorry that I lied. I did read it and had to push down the urge to text you telling how I felt too. I did not want that to be over the phone. I wanted to tell you in person. But you never brought it up so I just let it be. It Is not like we have to tell those words to justify what we are or what we feel for each other. Even without words we can feel it." she said.

Fuck me if she wasn't right. All these months we did everything a couple would do. It was like she moved over to my place. True we did not need to put a label on what we are. We loved each other since the time we started loving ourselves. Since the time she drove my fear away; since the time I drove away hers.

"I will still say it. I know you need to hear it and heck we have told it like a million times to each other. I am nervous because..." she trailed.

"This time it is different." I completed.

"Yes." She sucked in a breath.

"Adrian Philip. My bestfriend, I have loved you since the time you drove my nightmares away. The fear of ever loving and trusting someone, you drove it away. You made me love myself and here I am giving you all the love I can ever have to you. I love you Adrian. I always have and always will. I am in love with you." She said and my heart started beating faster.

"Alexis Carter. My little devil. I have loved you since we were 13. Okay I was 13 and you 14. Thought of adding one direction line."

She chuckled.

"Ever since then I have loved you. You made me love myself too. I am in love with you and all the little things." I neared her and held her hand looking straight into her eyes and continued. "Truly, madly, deeply I am, foolishly completely fallen. I've never had the words to say, but now I am asking you to stay. Not for a little while but for our whole lifetime. I'm half a heart without you, I'm half a man at best with half an arrow in my chest." I am mixing up all the lyrics I can think of.

"Forgive me for all the hurt I've caused you Alexis. I never wanted you to suffer hence I had to make the decision of leaving you, for your own good. I love the way you've grown up. You can handle any situations put across, you are determined and still kind hearted. I am a lucky bastard to have had your forgiveness. I love you Al. Always have." I said rubbing away the tear that rolled down her cheeks.

"You really used my boys' songs to confess your love to me. That is so cheesy and cliché."

"Ahh. I know you loved it. You've always been a sucker for clichés and cheesy stuffs."

"Yes. But those lyrics are to be told only by the boys. Not you. Though I loved it." she smiled.
