JUST HOLD ON

CHAPTER 5

I groaned as I woke up and sat on my bed.

That was a wrong move because I got scared instantly.

I was alone in the room. Oh God why do I even watch horror movies even though I know I am shit scared of it.

I'm thankful to Mommy that she didn't switch the lights off.

I looked at the time I was 11:11. I then made a wish hoping it would come true.

I know I'm crazy.

Then took my laptop out and was scrolling through social media.

After sometime I got bored of it and shut the laptop.

I took my phone out and saw Philip Uncle had called me 5 times. Oh shit. One call was just 2 mins ago. So, I called him back.

"Hi my dear. How are you?" he asked. He is a sweet person.

"I'm fine uncle. How are you?"

"I am fine too Alexis. It was almost sleeping time in here, so I could not answer. Why are you awake at this time?" he asked with concern.

Oh shoot. I totally forgot that my Dad and Philip Uncle are on a business trip. What do it tell him?

" Oh my sleep got hindered uncle. I called to ask about Maa. How is she? I feel like Adrian is hiding something."

"She is fine dear. But as of Adrian's you need not think like that. She will be fine. He will be fine. We will be fine."

There was a sad tone behind that voice of his.

I was about to ask if he is fine. But he cut me "Okay dear. The meeting is about to begin. Will talk to you later. Your dad says hi to you."

"Bye uncle take care. Send love to dad from me."

With that he cut the call. I'm so confused.

I was about to sleep when I heard a knock on my window. I freaked out so much.

Again, there was a knock. I took out my cricket bat.

I held that in my hand and took a defensive position.

"Who is it?"

No answer I opened the window waiting for that person to jump into my room. As soon as he did that, I swung my bat at him.

He caught it just before it could hit his face.

And I relaxed seeing it was Adrian. I took the bat from his hand and dint even wait for him to tell anything.

I started hitting him with that bat " You asshole. You know how worried I was. I went to your house to find out why you didn't even come for lunch and I found out you went to the hospital." Then I heard a sob which broke my heart.
Adrian was crying.

What, am I dreaming? Shit is it because I hit him.

Al you're so stupid. "Adrian I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Don't cry." I slapped myself. Yes, I literally slapped myself. I have no idea why I did that.

"What the fuck?" He looked at me and I could see his eyes were red.

I cried "I'm sorry Adrian. I I I dint mean to hit you. I was just worried that's why I went crazy and hit you."

A pair of strong arms pulled me to a hug and he spoke " It is not your fault that I'm crying ."

I pulled away "Oh thank God I felt so guilty."

He chuckled a little

"But I'm still sorry."

"It's okay babe."

"Now can you tell me why are you crying."

"Can I sleep with you for tonight?"

"Not until you say what's going on." I crossed my hand over my chest.

He looked at me and he knows that his only choice is to tell me what happened.

He then got up and went to the washroom. I went behind him and he was washing his face.

I handed him a towel. He gave me a smile a genuine one which I haven't seen for a long time. And it's rare. 

He always gives his signature smirk. He then went to his side of bed and turned towards me.

"Spill Adrian. "

"Could you switch the light off. Please"

"You know I'm scared Adrian" But I did it anyway. I laid down next to him.

He pulled me near him. And my stomach made flips. My heart started beating faster.

"What are you doing Adrian."

"Please don't get mad at me after I tell you the reason."

"That depends Adrian. Did you kill someone?" I told hoping it would lighten his mood.

"No" He chuckled.

Oh it worked.

He turned me so that my back was facing him and pulled me towards his chest.

It felt so good. This was the first time we are cuddling. Who am I kidding this is my first cuddle.

His breath fell on the nape of my neck.

"Tell Adrian. What's going on. I've never seen you like this."

"Its it's my mom."

"Whatttttttttt" I tried getting up. But he pulled me back down.

"Please listen to me" he pleaded.

"Okay go ahead." 

He kissed my hair, and my stomach made a weird noise.

Oh great timings.

"Did you eat dinner?" he asked.

"Nope I was worried about you so I dint feel like eating." I said playing with his fingers.

 His hands are twice as large as mine. My fingers are super small. Smaller than Beth. 

"Now, did you?"

"No" I sighed.

"Tell me what's going on Adrian. We will eat after that"

"You will cook? Oh I'd rather be hungry."

"Shut up and stop changing the topic. Spill."

"Okay so my mom. She ...she..Uhmmmm she."

"Fucking hurry up. What happened to maa?"
