CHAPTER 13 (Part 2)

"Al, listen to me please. Let me explain it to you. You can then decide if you want to kick me out. Please." I begged.

"Okay." She spoke but I could barely hear it and would have missed it if I did not read her lips.

Jake looked like he will punch me if I make her cry again. And he did mention it while we headed to her room, I guess.

She went inside and locked the door. She then motioned me to sit on her bed. I did not instead I went to her and looked at her.

We were both staring at each other no one uttering a word. Our breaths in sync, hearts beating fast like a hummingbird.

It was then I observed that she has changed, her eyelashes were much more prominent, her eyebrows the way she always liked, her lips were soft and kissable like always and then I looked at her eyes and saw the same shade of brown eyes that always looked at me with love and I was a fool not to observe that.

She cleared her throat and stepped back.

"How are you?" we both asked at the same time.

"I don't know Adrian. I want to kick you out of the house and at the same time give you a chance. Ahhh I don't know what to do." She said frustrated.

"Listen to you heart Al." that did the trick. She walked past me and sat on the bed leaning on the bed rest and patted the spot infromt of her.

I took 2 long steps and sat on her bed. I swear I could see a smile about to crack but never made it.

I wanted to see her smile, hear her laugh again.

"So, tell me. Get straight to the point. Start from what made you leave me like that." She spoke harshly.

I deserve that.

I told her about how Greg Tamish was the reason mum and dad were in an accident. How Julie left me and took the business plan and left us, the story about me meeting Lisa when I was wondering sitting under a tree which apparently was her safety spot too.

"She knew Gideon and Vincent helped me to get in touch with them. That is when I told them everything and they were ready to help me and I partly think it was for their business and Lisa but I was grateful to have met her then."

"Wait. You know Gideon Night. That handsome guy? You guys are friends?" her eyes sparkling for the first time since I entered and a huge part of me wanted to strangle Night but then I was happy to see her happy.

"Yeah. Why?" I asked in a pissed off voice that I did not intend to do.

"I met him once in the office I am interning at. I thought that was the last time would see him and regretted not getting the picture we clicked. He was so hot." She said dreamily.

I was pissed now. I put my hand through my hair roughly having the urge to scream.

"Yeah. I knew I should not have agreed to that." I muttered the last part.

"What?" she asked and I knew she heard what I said.

"Let me explain it."

She nodded and I continued.

"So, we came up with a plan and changed my name to Ace Night and acted as a cousin of Gideon just because he knows Julie being a Philip. So, had to change the name. We then made Greg believe that we would invest in his company if he gives his daughter's hand. Lisa was also in the plan as her mom was in trouble too. Greg, her stepdad wanted to kill her too after Lisa's marriage because she knew everything about how evil he is and tried to kill my parents. We collected all the evidences that could prove Greg guilty. We had to wait for a long time to jump into action, we had to make calculated decisions so as to not mess it up."

"Wait. To whom was Lisa given to?" she asked.

"Let me complete it." I said trying to avoid the question and answer it after everything. She nodded.

"We then told him that we are ready for the investment plan and made him come to the office where we held the judgement. We then went ahead and showed the judge all the proofs. Greg claimed that it was his idea all along and Julie is the alibi. We thought she would never come, we tried contacting her and all but she never answered. When she made her appearance out of nowhere we were shocked that Greg acted so fast to get her here or she was here the whole time after she left Jake."

"So, what happened?" I think she is softening, of course it was a valid one.

"Where are the others? Dan and others?" I asked hoping she would answer since she isn't angry anymore.

"They all are out, busy with some work." She answered.

"You are alone with Jake?" I asked.

"Duh!"

I was again frustrated but I needed to trust her and not loose my patience.

I looked at her and there was a playful hint in the way she looked at me. I ignored it and continued.

"We thought she would go on his side and we would be defeated but she spoke the truth. I don't know what made her do that but she focused on me the whole time she spoke. She told that Greg promised to marry her after she gives him the project idea, he then cheated her for Lisa's mom Suzzie. She had to work as a maid because Dad did not accept her, he could not digest the fact that his own wife betrayed him. She then went to Jake's house and found out about his deal; which you know and then Greg was furious and started shouting that she was a bitch and that she betrayed him. He even cursed Lisa and she did not bother; she was just happy that we got justice and that her mom was no longer in danger. Gideon and Vincent helped me a lot through this journey; they then gave the whole company to us and wanted to partner with it."

"Did you talk to Julie?" she asked.

I sighed. "Yes, I wanted to ask her many questions. She told me the reason she left me was because she was in love with Greg and that when he betrayed her, she was heartbroken and returned for me. She wanted to make amends with me. So that was her way of doing that. I just thanked her telling she had time even after that to do so. She could have come back when I was old enough to understand it. But she did not. She was anyway going to be in jail for 5 years because of all the things she did; she was also on the plan with Greg to kill mom and not dad. She wanted to use that as a chance and come back to our lives leaving Jake; but since her plan failed, she stuck with Jake." So fucked up.

"Are you fine?" Typical Al, always puts others before her.

"Yes, I am happy that I got a Mum who actually loves me regardless of all the shit I do." I said smiling. She smiled and my heart skipped a beat.

"Okay." I cleared my throat.

"So, Vincent owns the company now. He will be writing it to our name tomorrow and then the company will officially be ours. But Fahad would be handling it because his parents have moved here. I can not tell how lucky we were, if that day I would not have met Lisa I don't know how we would have managed all these."

She looked at me. Shit I took her name again.
