Chapter 37: The Trip Was Nice
Amber's POV
"Hello?"
[Babe...] a sweet voice answered that made my heart melt
I smiled to myself and fixed my hair before answering him.
"When will you pick me up?" I asked Bryan and he chuckled
[Excited aren't we?] he teased and I pouted as if he can see me
"I'm always excited lalo na kapag ikaw ang nagplano kung saan tayo pupunta. You're always full of surprises and I love that" I said
A log silence followed me.
I shuffled in my sit. May sinabi ba akong mali? Why isn't he talking back?
[Para sayo naman ang lahat ng surprises ko. I'll pick you up at 5. Be ready babe. I love you. ]
I glanced at the wristwatch and saw that it is 30 minutes before 5. I need to hurry!
I said my goodbye and ended the call before running towards my closet. What should I wear?
Matagal kong pinagisipan kung ano ang pwede kong suotin ngayon. In the end, comfortable clothes na lang ang kinuha ko. Hindi ko din naman kasi alam kung saan kami pupunta kaya might as well wear something na babagay kahit saan.
I wore a pants jumper and a round neck pink sweater. Sinuot ko ang pink kong converse at hinintay si Bryan na dumating.
I glanced at my wristwatch. It was already 5 in the afternoon. Nasaan na kaya si Bryan?
Just about time! Dumating na si Bryan at sumakay na ako sa kotse niya.
"Saan tayo pupunta?" tanong ko at ngumiti lang siya
I pouted kasi hindi niya ako sinagot.
"Don't pout love. I'll bring you to a place na alam kong magugustuhan mo." he assured
"Sigurado kang magugustuhan ko yun? Dapat magustuhan ko yon ah!" I teased and he nodded
The ride took about half an hour at nakita kong tumigil kami sa isang fast food chain.
"Bakit tayo nandito?"
"Let's eat before going to that place. Alam kong gutom ka na. Let's go?" he said at sumunod na lang ako sa kanya
He ordered a large pizza, two hamburgers, a large fries, one bowl of fried chicken and two colas.
The smell of the food when it arrived drives me crazy. This is heaven!
"Eat up love." Bryan said and I smiled before digging in
We finished eating at around 6 and we went on our way. The drive was long kaya nakatulog pa nga ako. Bryan woke me up and I was surprised nang makababa ako.
In front of me was scattered lots of food trucks. There are fairy lights everywhere and many people are walking around.
"Surprise! I read this on a website last night. The website stated the location and gave information about the night market thing that is happening here. I thought it would be nice to bring you here. Do....do you like it?" he hesitantly asked
I stared at awe at the view in front of me. This is my first time in a night market. I'm speechless.
"Don't you like it? I can probably bring you somewhere if----"
"No! I love it here. I'm just speechless right now. Thank you for bringing me here" sabi ko at ngumiti sa kanya
"Mabuti naman. Akala ko ayaw mo dito eh. You were silent for several seconds. Let's enjoy this night together love?" tanong niya at hinawakan ang kamay ko
I held on his hands tighter and smiled.
"Let's enjoy this night together love" I said and pulled Bryan to a nearby food truck
We went for a taco first and it was so delicious I could eat it all day. Bryan then pulled me to a donut truck. He ordered different kinds of donut and asked to put it in a box. Hindi muna namin kinain yung donut kasi sabi niya mamaya na daw.
The churros I ate was also to die for. Napakasarap niya talaga. Since nasarapan ako sa chocolate na ginawang dipping sauce para sa churros, I craved for a crepe. Bryan ordered for us at naupo muna kami.
Tinanong din ako ni Bryan kung ano pa daw ang gusto ko, I just told him I wanted something to drink.
He ordered a fresh cucumber juice and we drank it before he pulled me somewhere.
"Maglakad tayo papunta sa taas. It was also stated in the website na maganda daw dun mag stargazing." sabi ni Bryan at sumunod ako sa kanya
When we reached the top, I was starstruck by the view. The city is very visible here. Napakagandang tingnan.
Jus as I was staring at the city lights, I heard a clicking sound. I turned my head at nakita ko si Bryan na kumukuha ng pictures. Kanina pa siya nagpipicture.
"Halika. I rented some blankets at mga bagay bagay para sa stargazing natin. I even got the best spot!" he exclaimed
"Talaga? Tara na!" masaya kong sambit at pumunta na kami doon
Indeed it was the best spot. We can clearly see here the sky full of stars. Malapit din sa amin ang ilang food carts.
"Stay here, I'll buy something" he said at tumango lang ako
When Bryan came back, he handed me a flower shaped cotton candy.
"Wow! Ang ganda naman nito. Thank you love!" I exclaimed and Bryan smiled
"You're welcome my love" he said
I finished the cotton candy in a flash and started emptying the donut box. The donuts were explicit. Napakasarap.
We were watching the sky when I noticed a bright light passing through.
"Love, may shooting star! Let's wish!" I said at pinikit ko ang mata ko
Sana mabuhay pa ako ng matagal. Kung hindi man yun mangyari sana kahit wala na ako, maging masaya pa rin si Bryan. Kasi he deserves to be happy always. Let him be happy and safe all the times. I love him so much.
I then opened my eyes and lay down. Bryan did the same and we stared at the night sky.
I smiled to myself when I remembered my wish. Sana nga mangyari yun. Kasi pati ako hindi ko na alam kung hanggang kailan na lang ako mabubuhay. Maybe this happiness I'm feeling right now is the last happiness that I'll feel.
I looked at Bryan and I was surprised when he was also looking at me.
"I love you" Bryan mumbled and he went nearer and nearer
"I love you too" I said and that's when our lips met each other
