December came quicker than either of them cared to admit, and the realization that he had to find something to get Eddy for christmas struck Brett over dinner one day.
"You okay?" Eddy asked as he took another bite of the chicken and rice he had cooked for them. "Is the food that bad?"
Brett snorted.
"No, the chicken is good. Thanks for cooking for us today again," he said, leaning over the table to hold Eddy's hand. "I just remembered thst Christmas is around the corner and I have no idea what to get you."Eddy laughed a bit.
"You don't have to get me anything. The biggest present is to get to marry you in May."
Brett shook his head.
"Nah nuh-uh, I have to get you something. You deserve that," Brett said getting his thinking face on. Eddy just shrugged and kept on eating his dinner.Brett discovered exactly what he would get for Eddy one day as he was running some errands including, but not limited to, fetching bubble tea. He had spotted it in the window of the local antiques shop. They were known to have a variety of interesting items in this particular shop, but this thing was particularly interesting.
"Yeah, we even have a certificate saying it's legitimate!" the shop owner, an eccentric old man said enthusiastically when Brett came in to ask about it. "I couldn't believe my eyes when we got it in, honestly."
They agreed on a price and Brett left with it. It was a bit more than he was planning to spend, but it would definitely be worth it.
"What've you got there?" Eddy asked nodding to the large dark green bag he was holding. Brett hurried past him.
"Nothing nothing. Don't worry about it," he said, quickly stepping into the bedroom. Eddy was left in the living room, confused for a second, before realizing what it could be. Then he cursed to himself for looking at Brett's messy appearance from the wind outside instead of the bag."What did you get?" Eddy asked that evening, cuddled up on the couch. "And where have you hidden it?"
Brett leaned forward to press his lips against Eddy's jawbone, still mostly paying attention to the cheesy Christmas movie playing on TV."You know I won't tell you, okay? You'll see," he chuckled, feeling Eddy's finger softly trace the lines in his hand. Eddy sighed and leaned back against Brett's chest.
"You know I don't have patience for this," he mumbled with a sigh. "Pretty please, Bretty love?"Brett knew those eyes, and dear lord were they hard to resist.
"It'll look like I don't have anything for you for Christmas if I give it to you now," Brett said, kissing his forehead."Fineee, I won't ask about it," Eddy said, followed by a pout. "I haven't even gotten you anything yet either. What's on your wishlist?"
Before he could answer, Eddy har pressed their lips together. Brett couldn't help but smile.
"All I want for christmas is you," Brett half sang back at him, pushing his bangs away from his face.Eddy laughed.
"You already have me, silly.""I guess I have everything I could ever wish for then," Brett smiled back before gently pressing their lips together once more.
