Brett was kind of nervous during the breakfast the following morning. Two things would be happening that day, and both of them made him stress a bit. Eddy would probably show up today, and the voice would probably disappear today.

He stared at the half of a pill he had been asked to take with his breakfast. Sure, he had been informed of the name of whatever he was taking, all the possible side effects and how it was supposed to work. The problem was that immediately after being told all these things, he forgot about them. The only thing he did remember from that long talk was that this was a really low dose that might not do anything at all. Great.

He looked up at the large clock on the wall. Half past nine. If Eddy decided to show up today, it would be in half an hour.
He's probably with Mike instead of visiting you. Pretending to be sick to avoid seeing you.
Brett put the half pill in his mouth and swallowed it with some water. Stupid voice. He didn't really dare to hope it would actually work, though.
"Of course he's gonna be here. He said so. Or he's gonna video call, if he's sick. Shut up", he muttered to the voice, taking another bite of the sandwich he had gotten for breakfast.

Half an hour later, he was waiting in the common area with all the other people who expected visitors. What hit Brett was how normal everyone looked. Nobody looked like they belonged in a mental hospital, or psychiatric ward as they wanted him to call it. Just a bunch of normal people.

"Brett?" he heard a nurse call from the door, and his head shot up to see Eddy standing awkwardly behind her with two violin cases, a bag and an exhausted look. He immediately got up from the chair, but had to stop for a second, feeling a bit dizzy. He blamed it on standing up too quickly and ran over to Eddy.

"Hey love", Eddy said with a smile, voice breaking from the sore throat. Brett hugged him tightly despite Eddy's full hands preventing him from hugging him back.
"You idiot, I told you to stay home if you were sick", Brett said, taking his violin case from Eddy. "Why did you bring the violins?"
Eddy shrugged.
"Thought we could play some, if you wanted, and maybe you wanted yours here to practice", Eddy said in a hoarse voice, coughing lightly after. "But I'll just bring it back if you don't want to, it's no stress."
"How do you always think about everything?" Brett muttered with a sigh before tiprtoeing to kiss Eddy's cheek. "Let's go to my room, yeah?"

Eddy honestly felt like sleeping for ten years straight as he set his violin case and the little bag down on the floor in Brett's tiny room. There was no doubt to him that he had a light fever, but he chose to ignore it for now. He was not about to let Brett know how sick he really was and get kicked out to go home and rest.
"I brought some of your own clothes, by the way, and uh, one of my hoodies, in case you want something larger", Eddy said, standing awkwardly in the middle of the room. Brett nodded, smiling at the last addition.
"Thank you, love", Brett said, his smile widening as he held out his arms and Eddy walked into another hug.
"Hey, anything for you", Eddy replied, kissing the top of his head.
