The next day was beyond awkward. Mark has given them a day off as a reward. When Karima got up, surprisingly late, she found a note from Emily.

Hey Karima,
I'm just gonna pop out to meet some of my family and friends. Won't be back until a couple of hours at least. When I get home, I'd like to have a chat if that's OK. I think yesterday was a massive miscommunication.

Karima didn't really know what to take from. Just that she was in trouble. And was probably gonna get kicked out. Shit then she'd be homeless. Just on cue, her phone vibrated a text from a certain Emma.

Hey, can we talk?

Karima sighed. Why did everyone want to talk? To her? Not wanting to lose her best friend, she typed back.

Sure. About yesterday?

Emma instantly texted back.

Yeah...I think it's a bit obvious. Look I just want to apologise for inviting them. Especially her.

Karima was surprised to get an apology.

It's fine. I just want to know whose idea it was?

What do you mean?

Karima rolled her eyes.

Emily said that she invited them with you.

Judging from the following text, Emma was surprised that Emily had admitted that.

Er...Yeah that's true. You're gonna be surprised but it was her intentions actually. She felt bad after witnessing what happened.

Karima let out a massive groan. She forgot she was there. To make matters worse, Karima remembered she was not the only teammate from the National Team to have see what happened.

Look Emma, I have to say a massive sorry as well. You're right. I don't always act my age.

Just then, Emily walked in. She seemed to have been having a nice time. Then she saw Karima and her face fell. "Look..." she whispered quietly. "I think we need to talk."
Karima shrugged. "Fine by me." Emily sat down next to her. "I don't get why you're so secretive." Karima gave a smug look. "It's not like you've known me for long." She cleverly pointed out. Emily seemed a bit concerned though. "Yeah but I was talking to Emma, who you've known for over a decade if I'm not wrong and...she says she doesn't know that much more about you than I do." Karima didn't know where this was going. "So..." Emily leaned an elbow on the table. "I'm going to find your secrets Mendoza." Karima was surprisingly nervous when Emily moved up closer to her. Cole was right. She did have feelings for Emily Sonnett.
