A/N In this chapter, I've done something a little different and would like for you to participate to get the full effect of the song Freddie wrote for Daisy. Obviously it's a pre existing song by Daniel Bedingfield, however it's always been a favourite of mine and it quite fits the situation, so I've included the video above for you to listen to during Daniels performance, to get the full effect of the chapter. I hope you enjoy xx

The tension in Freddie's chest subsided as he shook James' hand. He noticed a slight pressure which was bordering on painful, but figured, his nerves were making him paranoid.

"I can't tell you how pleased I am to meet you Freddie, I'm a huge fan" James gushed with absolutely no reservations.

"It's nice to meet you too Sir" Freddie replied politely while throwing glances at Daisy, who was enjoying Freddie's discomfort "you'll have to excuse my surprise, Daisy hasn't-"

"Spoken about me?" James interrupted, finishing Freddie's sentence "I've been in prison for a long time, she's a little touchy about it"

Daisy shot her father a death stare, insulted that he would imply that she was being dramatic "I need to get back to my post, Freddie you're up in 5 please return to your spot" walking off without waiting for a response, James laughed out loud.

"She's just like her mother. Dramatic"

Freddie gave no answer as he kept his eyes on Daisy as she swayed gracefully away.

Noticing Freddie's line of vision, James wrapped his arm around him and pulled him in tightly "so explain this to me because the papers were a little inconsistent. You met Daisy at a concert, fell in love, broke up a hundred times, got married, got divorced and now you're just....." he paused for a moment for Freddie to complete the sentence before completing it himself "friends?"

"I don't know if she would call it that" Freddie sighed at how ridiculous his love life sounded when it was out in a nutshell.

"Is that because of the new missus and your impending arrival?" James' tone became protective, and slight annoyed.

Freddie pulled away slightly "it's complicated, but yes, I would imagine it plays a significant role"

"Right" James replied quickly. He looked over at Daisy who was adjusting accessories and smiling happily, before turning back to Freddie "Son, I have absolutely no doubt that you love my daughter very much. I am aware that given your status, it's very easy for anyone to make false claims about you and it becomes headline news. But I also know, that she's a replica of her mother. Kind, caring, incredibly beautiful and sensitive. I made the mistake of losing Daisy's mother. I broke her spirit, did things that at the time, I didn't realise would end up hurting her enough to stop loving me. I can see that Daisy loves you, but I can see the look in her eyes that my wife had before she left me for good. If you love Daisy, and you're willing to honour her love, then I will be your biggest support....but....if you're leading her on, while creating a new family, simply because she's a pretty girl, well son, I'm going to have to intervene"

Freddie was taken aback by James' brutal honesty, and despite being surprised, he was appreciative of opening up and not sugar coating his views on what was going on.

"I do love her. More than...more than I can even-I can't even explain how much I love her. I'm in very deep, very deep with so many issues and-"

Alex lifted his hand up to stop Freddie "Son, I know that there are...I know about Alex I know about the rape and all the other- " he paused in realisation that Daisy hasn't told Freddie about Viktor confession.

"Other? Other what?" Freddie didn't miss James' slip up "other what!" He repeated, his vice now slightly raised.

James immediately regretted what he had said and cursed under his breath "son, perhaps you and Daisy should sit down and have a chat"
