The Sixers had successfully survived the first two games in the second round of the NBA playoffs. Pulling through for the win in Game 2 to tie the series at 1 a piece. Ally would be lying if she said she wasn't happy for the boys. They'd worked really hard for this.
Tonight the Sixers were set for an 8PM start against the Raptors at Wells Fargo Center for Game 3. It's safe to say the guys were excited to be back on their own turf. They're bringing the fight to Philly, knowing that their fans have their back 110%.
"Are you excited?" Ally asked Ben as he sat in front of his cubby scrolling through social media. He'd been a little distracted lately.
Ben only gave a nod, his eyes glued to his phone screen. Ally looked at him for a second, before nodding and standing up. Ben looked up from his phone when she did so, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"To do my job." Ally replied, starting to walk away. Ben grabbed her wrist, stopping her short. Ally turned to face him. "Yes?"
Ben locked his phone and tossed it into his cubby, now using his free hand to pull her back to him. He sat her on his lap, hugging her close.
"Don't go." He mumbled like a 4 year old, pressing his lips to the back of her clothed shoulder. "I need company."
"Your phone seems to have been keeping you enough company." Ally retorted.
"You're better company." He exclaimed, tightening his arms around her.
Ally sighed before unwrapping his arms from around her. She stood up off his lap, afraid of being seen by anyone.
"I have to finish working." She said, turning to face him.
Ben nodded, chewing on his lower lip as he looked her up and down. Ally blushed, turning to walk away. He couldn't do things like that, especially knowing that he looks good.
Soon the rest of the team was making their way into the locker room, loud and annoying.
"Why are y'all always so loud?" Ally asked, wondering what was the reason for all the ruckus.
"It's game 3 on our home court baby girl." Jimmy teased. "We're ready to show them a good time."
The glare in Ben's eyes didn't go unnoticed by Ally. She spotted it as soon as Jimmy called her baby girl. She only grinned at Jimmy, which added on to Ben's irritation.
Ben walked out of the locker room quickly, fuming as he headed to the court for a quick warmup. His frustration left the rest of the team to give each other questioning glances. Ally swallowed, before smiling at the guys and going to the managements office.
About an hour would go by before the boys are back in the locker room getting themselves ready for the game. Ally watched from the office window as Ben isolated himself from the rest of the guys. Whenever they included him in the conversation, his answers would come out bland. He would try to answer without sounding angry.
When game time came, Ally noticed the scowl on Ben's face the entire time. Coach Brett Brown called a timeout when he saw that the team wasn't getting stops; the Raptors kept scoring. As he went to go huddle up with the rest of the coaches, the five on the court came to sit on the bench and wait for the play. And was Ben hearing it from Jimmy.
