Krystal: Nat, you put this all together?
Nat: With a little help... Since Beth left, they've been needing an event coordinator & well, you're looking at the new one.
Summer: You've found your niche! It's absolutely beautiful in here.

Summer linked arms with Nat & related her head on his shoulder.

Nat: You girls ready for our lip sync battle performance?
Krystal: Oh gosh, are we really doing this?
Nat: Yes, I told you. I put our names on the program. We're the closing performance. So we have to make it big.
Krystal: So there's no turning back?
Summer: Oh it'll be fun.
Nat: You're such a killjoy, K!
Krystal: Ok, ok. But no cameras!
Nat: I'll ask, but there's no guarantee. Plus I heard they might be live-streaming a portion for our men to watch overseas.

Nat was pulled away to tend to a mini disaster that he had to quickly mitigate. The hall was decorated in gold & red hearts & tinsel. The lights were dimmed & purple & pink hued spotlights scattered throughout the room. Plenty of marine families were in attendance. They had something for all ages. There was a bouncy house off to the corner for the kids. An arcade room was open for usage. A mini bar for those 21 & older. It was a great event so far.

Many of the spouses & partners of those deployed hung out together. They were a community who were in full support & helped each other out during deployment. They each were as close as family.

Summer was sitting alone as Krystal was tending to her kids & Nat was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Summer watched as couple hit the dance floor. Krystal was dragged out to the dance floor by her girls. Summer caught herself missing Jay. Nick was there & noticed Summer. He always noticed her & could always pick her out in a crowd. There was something about her that drew him in. He walked towards Summer's table.

Nick: Is this seat taken?
Summer: Not anymore.

Nick sat next to Summer.

Nick: You enjoying the night?
Summer: It could be better, but then again it could be worse. So... The holidays are just hard without...
Nick: Your significant other?
Summer: Yeah. Hey, enough about me. Did you bring a date tonight?
Nick: Me? No.
Summer: Oh come on. There weren't any available single women out there?
Nick: Not the one I want.

Summer's smile faded & she looked away. She knew Nick was talking about her.

Summer: Hey, you wanna dance?
Nick: Really? This isn't awkward.
Summer: Well, we're the only two people sitting at a dance. I think that's awkward.
Nick: Alright, after you.

Nick motioned for Summer to head to the dance floor. She stood up & he followed her. It was a fun song that got everyone moving. They danced & were having fun. Nick was enjoying Summer's company & thought she was the most beautiful when she smiled. Summer needed this distraction away from missing Jay.

Serena closed the door behind her & Grandma walked out of her room.

Grandma: Serena, are you ok?

Serena's eyes filled with tears as she walked over to Grandma. Grandma held her arms open & Serena walked into her embrace. Grandma stroked her hair to comfort her.

Grandma: Was that Brian?
Serena: Yes.
Grandma: Where's Bennet?
Serena: I don't know.

Serena tucked her hair behind her ears & wiped her tears.

Grandma: Serena, you've got to end this right now.
Bennet is no good for you. Look what he did tonight.
Serena: Grandma, I love him.
Grandma: No, you don't.
Serena: Yes, I do. I might be young, but I do know what love is. I love Bennet no matter what the odds are. I choose to love him.
Grandma: Fine, but my hands are off. I'm done arguing with you. You may choose your actions, but you won't always get to choose your consequences.

Grandma left Serena & was upset at the fact that Serena was still stuck & stubborn in her ways. Grandma was afraid that Serena would eventually get hurt by Bennet if she didn't leave him. Serena went upstairs & tried calling Bennet. There was no answer. She hated that she couldn't reach him. She also hated that she & Grandma always butted heads.

The DJ called up group after group for the performance portion of the night. The closing performance was Krystal, Nat & Summer. They chose to perform a lip sync battle dance opening the audience to anyone else who wanted to battle against them. They started off with some old school favorites & worked their way to the current songs similar to the music the DJ was playing.

Summer, Krystal & Nat stood on the stage in outfits picked out by Nat. They were all dressed like cheerleaders. They ended their number with the song "Cheerleader" & dedicated it to their lovers abroad. This was a Galentines Day to remember, but Summer hoped that maybe next year she'd get to spend Valentines Day with Jay.
