Time ~ 12:47 pm

The hospital was a dull place, despite the brilliant white of the walls and the warmth they held within, the atmosphere was always negative and hung around like an annoying devil sat on your left shoulder. Jin didn't mind it one bit though; he loved being a doctor. Past the sterile smell of the halls and the bland decorations, there was a job he loved to do. Being able to help others was the one thing that kept a smile controlling his lips as he worked, day in, day out.

"Jin! Could you spare a moment? You're needed in the pediatric ward." A female nurse called over to him, and Jin stood up with extreme urgency the moment her voice struck his ears. Jin was a doctor of very high expertise, and if there was ever a big problem, especially with children, he'd be the one trusted to sort it out.
"Of course." He said, putting down his paperwork and scurrying over to where the nurse was beckoning him from.

"What's the problem?" Jin asked the lady as they hurried down the quiet corridors of the hospital. He'd got used to the sterile smell associated with such places, which hung around as he took a deep breath in like he usually would to prepare himself for anything.
The nurse turned to him, displaying a half-worried, half-agitated look towards the dark-haired male.

"It's Charlie again. He was alright this morning, but about ten minutes ago he started panicking and writhing around, and we can't get him to stop. Nothing triggered it, it was entirely spontaneous as far as we know. I'm concerned, his heart rate and blood pressure needs to come down instantly." She blurted, and Jin nodded and sighed, realising how serious this might be. Charlie was a young child, of about eight years old, who was born with a form of life-threatening heart condition. The nurse who accompanied Jin to his room had been caring for him for years, but they became worried as the boy started to deteriorate and he was brought back into hospital as a long term resident.

Jin noticed the anxious look on the nurse's face and gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"It'll be alright." He said softly with a warm smile, and the nurse gulped and nodded, finally realising how attached she'd become to the boy. Jin had known Charlie since he was very small, and was the only one who'd been known to be able to calm him down when he had tantrums, episodes or panic attacks.

Reaching the ward, Jin hurried inside, quickly going through the door to the young boy's room and coming to his side. Charlie had nothing but panic written over his face, his dilated eyes flooded with warm tears as his mouth hung wide open, pained screams and inaudible shouts coming from inside. Jin removed the nurses that were huddled around the boy, leaning over Charlie with gentle actions.
"Hey buddy, it's okay, it's okay." Jin soothed, scooping the boy carefully into his arms with mother-like tendencies. The young boy clung onto Jin's shirt immediately, the material being abused by his small fists as he shook and cried.

"It's coming! We can't stop it! We're all gonna die! We can't stop it!" The boy shrieked between his sobs, his body trembling more vigorously as Jin held him tightly.
"What is it Charlie? Why are you all panicky? Come on, tell Doc Jinnie." Jin encouraged softly, rubbing the boy's back in a desperate attempt to calm him down. Charlie choked back a sob, pulling his small, tear stained face from Jin's shirt and looking up at his favourite doctor.

"The sky's gonna fall Jinnie." He whispered fearfully, and Jin just smiled and sat on the bed next to him. The boy was still shaking, his breathing rapid and his small body trembling as he sat there, and Jin frowned a little.
"You're safe here Charlie. Do me a favour a tell me five things you can see?" He said softly, Charlie's breathing steadying gradually by his small actions.
"B-bed, nurse, wall, c-clock and Jinnie."
Jin smiled and ruffled the boy's hair.

"Four things you can feel?"
"Umm..." Charlie looked around himself, his trembling lessening with every passing second.
"Sheets, pillow, my face and... Jinnie's hand."
"Perfect. Finally, three things you can hear?" Jin asked softly, giving Charlie a little time to think as he glanced at the heart rate monitor, nodding to himself as it was nearly back to normal.
"Jinnie's voice, squeaky door and beeps." Charlie finished, and Jin smiled triumphantly, causing the small boy in front of him to giggle a little.

"Well done! Aren't you a clever one." Jin said, loving the sound of the boy's giggles. The dark-haired male hauled himself from the bed, and was met with the grateful stares of the nurses.
"Thankyou so much Dr Kim." One sighed, relief evident as she exhaled. Jin just smiled in response and left the room as quickly as he had entered.

The young doctor decided that he'd go and stand outside for some fresh air once his lunch break had come around, and he slipped out of the door, his body tingling at the warm feeling of the sun dancing on his skin. He gazed up at the wispy clouds that were scattered across the sky like paint to a blue canvas, yet his brows knitted tightly together as his gaze landed on something entirely out of place.

"What... the hell is that?" Jin whispered under his breath, squinting as he looked at the sky. At the peak of his vision he could see a small dot, slightly smaller than the sun would look, but equally as bright. It sat prominently between the clouds, hanging in the sky, and it would puzzle all who eyes dared to settle upon it. Jin quickly reached to his pocket to swipe out his phone so that he could take a picture of it, but his heart sunk and eyes widened as something else on his phone screen grasped his attention first. A breaking news notification.

'Global Warning!:
Huge meteor has been spotted travelling straight for Earth ~ 2-3 hours remaining.
Seek shelter immediately!'

Jin could feel his breath get caught in his throat as he froze, hands fumbling with his phone in a panic. Running back inside, he noticed that the message must have already got spread around, because nurses and patients alike were running around in a frenzy as the whole hospital went into lockdown. Jin gasped, a hand absent-mindedly coming up to his mouth and covering it in realisation and terror. Charlie was right.

The sky is falling.
