Everyone was up and awake by the time the sun had risen, the nine of them gathering in the lounge to discuss the plans for the first day in their new environment. All heads turned as Yoongi and Hoseok were the last ones to join them, both with looks of slight unease controlling their features, though it was clear that they were trying to hide it.
"You two okay?" Jimin asked with a questioning eyebrow raise, Hoseok clearing his throat as he kept his eyes trained to the floor.
"Well... uh... Yoongi and I- we wanted to tell you... um, we're-""They're dating."
All eyes widened at the sound of Taehyung's voice cutting Hoseok off, Hoseok and Yoongi being the ones who looked the most shocked.
"What?! No! We're not... well, kinda..." Hoseok blurted, Jungkook and Taehyung chuckling simultaneously at their flustered faces as the rest of the group still looked at them with mouths agape.
"Oh come on, it's so obvious. We saw you last night." Jungkook teased, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. Hoseok gasped and covered his face as his cheeks adopted a crimson colour, while Yoongi put on an expression of pure annoyance and betrayal."You fucking what?!" He cursed loudly, the two youngest now not being able to control their laughter as they huddled together on one of the large armchairs, bent at their middle as their torsos hurt from all of the suppressed laughter.
"Hold the hell up, are they serious?!" Jimin gasped as he pointed between Jungkook and Taehyung, Hoseok groaning loudly and dragging his hand across his face.
"I'll take that sign as a yes." Namjoon said with a smirk, signalling to both Hobi and Yoongi's reaction.Yoongi stormed towards the armchair, grabbing Taehyung's shirt by the collar.
"Why you little-"
Hoseok literally had to pry Yoongi off of Taehyung before the mint-haired male actually did the boy some serious damage, despite the fact that they were both overridden with embarrassment.
"Well, I guess it's kinda obvious now." Hoseok said with an awkward smile, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly with one hand and holding Yoongi's hand with the other as he dragged the older male back."Eh, I knew it all along." Leanne said smugly from her position by the wall, leaning up against the peeling wallpaper with her arms folded across her chest.
"Ay, same here." Taehyung chuckled, lifting a hand, and Leanne giggled as she hi-fived him.
"I swear, you're on thin ice, kid." Yoongi growled, pointing a finger at Taehyung who merely shrugged with the same taunting smirk toying his lips.
"Ooh, I'm so scared." He mocked with pure sarcasm, Jungkook having to stifle a laugh from beside him as the two of them watched Yoongi struggling to hold back his urge to full-on punch the brunette."Well, I think it's cute. Good for you guys. Now Jungkook, if you could stop giggling to yourself and tell us what the hell we're doing today." Jin sighed, the youngest clearing his throat and straightening himself up at the authority present in the eldest's voice.
"Ah yeah, sorry." He said sheepishly, making sure he had everyone's attention before speaking."So, Jin and Namjoon will stay here to guard the cottage and set up their equipment, while the rest of us are gonna do a little... shopping." Jungkook said with a smirk, everyone else eager to get started.
"I'm going to go with Hoseok, Yoongi and Leanne to collect food and medical supplies, while the other three can make their way to the outskirts of the village where I think I saw some old clothing shops. We need all the winter gear we can get, so Taehyung can be in charge of that." Jungkook said, everyone nodding to his orders but Jimin."Why can't I be in charge?" The blonde said with a pout, Taehyung smirking at Jimin as Jungkook simply shrugged.
"Because I said so, and your group needs someone who's good with a gun to check out areas first for safety reasons. Is that clear?" He spoke in a low voice, Jimin sighing and nodding as he realised that arguing with the leader of the squad really wasn't going to get him anywhere. He'd really have to get some shooting practice in, but the bow and arrows were serving him well so far.Taehyung turned to Jungkook with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, so you think I'm good with a gun?" He questioned no louder than a murmur, Jungkook smirking as he turned towards him with cocky head movements.
"Eh, you could do with some work." He replied, chuckling silently when Taehyung dramatically pretended to be hurt by his words and nudged him, offended."I miss the days when I was able to boss you around." Jimin said to the youngest with a frown, Jungkook raising an eyebrow and laughing a little.
"We all miss those days, Chim." Jungkook sighed, a chorus of agreeing mumbles heard from around the room.
"Just stop fussing and let's get going." Yuri said to her boyfriend with a light chuckle as they all perked up and got quickly ready to leave."It might be dangerous, so everyone needs some form of weapon." Leanne added in as she picked her bag up off of the floor, Jungkook nodding and making sure that everyone had got the message, before clapping his hands together and waving everyone off to get ready. Ten minutes later, all seven of those who were going scavenging were ready at the door, weapons in hand and empty bags clinging to their backs for any useful equipment that they might find.
"Okay, this may take some time, so let's meet back here around noon." Jungkook announced, everyone nodding to his words before splitting off into two groups. Having located some unused batteries in a storage cupboard, they decided it would be okay to use their walkie talkies, each group being given one so that they could communicate their findings or reach out for help if it was needed. The range on the small devices had a span of about a mile, so it was a pretty reliable form of contact, though Taehyung could only wish that he still had a phone as he stared down at the dented, black metal object that he clasped in his hand.
Taehyung, Yuri and Jimin walked away from the cottage and into the village centre, sticking close together although they were a lot more relaxed than they had been recently. They aimed to raid the abandoned clothing shops in hopes of gaining some winter gear, so coats, gloves, boots and anything that might help to keep them warm would be a bonus.
"It's an odd looking place, isn't it?" Yuri said in a tone of curiosity, sweeping her blonde hair from her face when a cool breeze caused the fair strands to fall over her eyes.
"Yeah, but honestly I think it's a nice change of scenery." Taehyung agreed, Jimin scoffing from beside him.
"I'll say."With a little ways to go to get to the shops, Taehyung decided he'd start a conversation. He wasn't one for socialisation, but he wasn't Yoongi either.
"So, you guys were rebels for two years?" Taehyung asked, Jimin nodding to confirm his query.
"Yeah, a scary life it was to live too. The leader of the group basically made us swear our lives to him, or he would have killed us both. We woke up each day thanking our lucky stars that we were still alive. You couldn't even sleep without feeling unsafe." Jimin mumbled with a scowl, Yuri squeezing his hand lightly to relax his features."Damn, that's horrible." Taehyung said, and Yuri simply shrugged.
"It kept us alive though, we had food, went on missions, learned new skills and luckily we didn't get separated. Jiminie can't deal with separation." Yuri said with an endearing yet teasing smile, her boyfriend groaning and bringing his free hand along his face.
"Aw, that's cute." Taehyung said mockingly, Jimin rolling his eyes and throwing him a glare."Look, after Jungkook and I got split up on impact day, I don't think I've ever panicked more in my life. He helped me escape, but before I could help him, he was... gone. For two years I've dealt with the guilt and thoughts of having lost my best friend, only to find out he's still alive, thank God. And so yeah, I'd rather not lose anyone again." Jimin explained, Taehyung note frowning at him sympathetically while Yuri smiled with sad eyes, and Jimin just shrugged it off.
"It was this one who calmed me down that day, and I honestly wouldn't be alive without her." Jimin said, turning to Yuri with a smile and pecking her forehead as the latter giggled a little. The brown haired man smiled before rolling his eyes and looking away.
"Y'all are cute, but you're making me feel hella single right now." Taehyung groaned, all three of them laughing together as they finally reached where they wanted to be."Well, let's get looking shall we?"
