Chapter 33

Jimin quickly slid the van door open, hurriedly beckoning Taehyung and Jungkook into it as Namjoon quickly pulled up beside them. The look of relief on the two boy's faces made the rest of them immediately worry for what had happened, questions lingering in the air, waiting to be answered. The moment they were in, the door was slammed shut again and Namjoon drove off at full speed back to the camp.

"Where the hell were you guys?!" Jimin exclaimed, not getting an answer as Taehyung and Jungkook we're both completely out of breath, body's bent at the middle as they gulped in breaths of air.
"I... whew... I need to sit down." Taehyung panted, his body still not having recovered from his whole poison ordeal. Not to mention that his ankle was now throbbing like hell. Jungkook watched as Taehyung stumbled to the back of the van, sitting next to Hobi who was sound asleep.

"What happened to him?" Taehyung asked with a raised eyebrow, wincing slightly at the pain of his ankle before deciding to ignore it.
"Hey, I asked you a question first." Jimin said, crossing his arms over his body, and Jungkook chuckled a little before sighing.
"I almost died, that's what. And he saved my ass." Jungkook said, Yoongi shooting an astonished look to Taehyung before groaning and getting up from Hoseok's side to walk over to Jungkook.

"Why the heck did you do that? Yeah, it was a successful distraction, but couldn't you have done something that doesn't scream 'suicide mission' ? I mean, come on. Use your brain if there's one in there." Yoongi said angrily, Jungkook rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly as he looked at the floor.
"Yeah, even Yoongi was worried." Leanne said with a chuckle, earning a glare from the mint-haired.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think. If Taehyung hadn't come for me... I'd definitely be dead. It was a serious mistake and I'd understand if someone else wants to be the leader instead so-" Jungkook said quietly, but was cut off by Taehyung who groaned at his words.
"Kook, we've talked about this." He sighed, the others looking with concern at the youngest.
"I can't keep making mistakes like this." Jungkook said, rubbing his face with his hand before looking up at the others.

"Jungkook, from what we've seen, you show better leading qualities than any of us. Sure, someone like Hobi has his moments, but he doesn't nearly have as many good ideas as you, trust me." Leanne said with a small chuckle, and Jungkook couldn't help but smile a little.
"It's true. You display great leading qualities and skill in every situation that we've encountered. And you've had experience, the rest of us haven't." Yuri added, everyone nodding at that.

"I'm just worried that I'll end up hurting you guys." Jungkook mumbled, somewhat confused at the others rolled their eyes at him.
"Jungkook, we're a team. A team sticks together and doesn't back down. You don't have to carry all this responsibility on your own. We need you." Taehyung added, Jungkook smiling at him.
"It's true, kid. Don't put so much pressure on yourself." Yoongi said, putting his hand on Jungkook's shoulder as the youngest took in a deep breath.
"Okay, I'll try my best." Jungkook said, everyone smiling at him and cheering a little.
"You always do." Jimin chuckled, watching as Jungkook walked back to where Taehyung and Hobi were, closely followed by Yoongi.

"Is he alright?" Jungkook asked, Yoongi crouching down beside him to reply.
"Yeah, his body is just exhausted after getting hypnotised. He'll be back to himself by tomorrow." Yoongi reassured, Jungkook's eyes widening at his words. Honestly, he was just glad that nobody in the squad was badly hurt, and they were lucky that each of them had their own strengths and talents, therefore being able to conquer a problem like this.

"What happened when he was, you know, hypnotised? How does it work?" Taehyung asked, and Yoongi frowned.
"Leanne said we shouldn't tell him about it because he'd freak out." Yoongi said, Jungkook turning to him with furrowed eyebrows.
"Oh?"
"The drath tried to get Hoseok to kill Leanne."

"The drath did what now?!"

The three of them jumped slightly and looked down, gasping as they noticed that Hoseok's eyes had flown open, shock evident on the orange-haired boy's features.
"I... um..." Yoongi mumbled, not really sure how to explain the situation.
"Wait wait wait, I nearly killed her?!" Hobi exclaimed in a hoarse voice, sitting up maybe faster than he should have. He groaned as the headache hit him, bringing a hand to his forehead to support his head that sat uneasily on his neck.

"Hey, slow down." Jungkook said, holding his hands out to signal to Hobi to not go any further. Hoseok just groaned and complied as he lay back down.
"You got hypnotised, Hoseok. None of it was your fault." Yoongi reassured, Hoseok still in a state of shock after accidentally overhearing this information.
"We thought you were asleep." Taehyung chuckled, Hoseok shrugging a little.

"I was until you guys decided to have a conversation over the top of me." He grumbled, the other three chuckling a little.
"Yeah, sorry about that." Jungkook said with a smile, noticing that Yoongi was clearly relieved that Hoseok was okay.
"So, what happened?" The half-asleep male queried in a rough voice, Taehyung stopping Jungkook from explaining and looking up at Yoongi.

"It's a lot to take in buddy. I'll leave Yoongi to explain it to you later." Taehyung said, winking at Yoongi who appeared to get immediately shy and maybe even a little annoyed at the suggestion. Before Yoongi could say anything, Jungkook shuffled to the edge of the van so that he could lean his back against the wall, Taehyung following suit.
"Why get Yoongi to explain it all?" Jungkook said in a slightly disappointed whisper with a small but noticeable pout, Taehyung failing to hide an adoring smile as he turned his head to reply.

"Don't you see? They totally have a thing for each other. I'm just playing cupid." Taehyung whispered back with a small chuckle, Jungkook's eyes widening.
"I hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it, I totally see it." Jungkook whispered into Taehyung's ear, the two of them snickering to themselves as the van pulled up to East camp's front gate. Taehyung noticed Jimin smirking at them from the front of the van, Jungkook following his gaze and catching Jimin's eye.

"What?" Jungkook asked with a raised eyebrow, Jimin just laughing and waving it off. Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"What's his deal?" He grumbled, Taehyung shrugging at the younger and shaking his head.

"I have no idea."
