Leanne couldn't even think of stopping the orange-haired male as he immediately leapt out of the truck, axe wielded in one hand as he swept it from his back.
"Hobi! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" She screamed after him, watching as the other ran at the alien, lacking in his usual fear. Hobi ignored her pleas entirely, picking up his pace as he ran to where the borg was, it's reptilian eyes not focused on him, but locked on the dog.

"Hey!" He shouted angrily, his heart in his throat as he succeeded in capturing the borg's attention. You could hear the grim sound of inhuman flesh squelching as the borg's head snapped in Hobi's direction, the scraping of scales like nails to a chalkboard. Letting out a shrill screech, it bolted towards Hobi, probably about as fast as the average human could run, but with ten times more energy. The orange-haired male swallowed whatever fear he had as the monster ran quickly towards him, the murderous intent visible in its glowing green eyes that sat gleaming on its dragon-like head. Standing in his defensive stance, axe held above his head, Hobi just said one thing to the humanoid that stood at least a foot above him.

"Don't fucking touch that dog!"

Clueless to the small man's rage, the borg extended it claws, ready to tear him down with one foul swipe. But before it even had a chance, Hoseok had brought the sharp blade of his axe into the side of its neck with force, beheading it immediately. Panting with nerves and tiredness, Hobi gasped as he watched the borg fall, looking at his hands.
"What came over me?" He murmured, thinking all of a sudden at how reckless and dangerous that had been. But then again, he had skilfully killed it.

"What were you thinking?!" An angry, high-pitched voice shouted from behind him, and Hoseok turned to meet the furious and worried eyes of Leanne. Rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, he gave an awkward smile and signalled to the corpse that lay motionless on the floor.
"It's fine, no damage done. I'm unharmed!" He said defensively, but Leanne just groaned in response, folding her arms over her small frame.
"But you could have been! That was really stupid Hoseok." She scolded, and Hobi sighed, realising she was right.

He was about to reply when an unfamiliar noise sounded from behind them, a bark.
Hoseok turned with a smile as a golden, Labrador retriever ran towards him. The dog's fur was shiny and looked soft, despite it being matted and dirty from living in such an environment, and it looked surprisingly healthy.
"I haven't seen a dog in years." Hobi said with wide eyes, bending down as the creature bounded towards him.

The orange-haired male couldn't help but notice that Leanne was also smiling at the sight, but she quickly swept it from her face as Hobi looked up at her, still wanting to make a point that she was angry at him. Hobi sighed, petting the dog with gentle and loving tendencies as it ran around his legs.
"Now where did you come from?" He mumbled, noticing that the exuberant canine had a vest tied tightly around its middle. After glancing at it for a moment, he was taken a little by shock and further confusion.

A dog would definitely have not survived the apocalypse without a strong handler, but wasn't expecting to find that it was indeed a police dog. It almost seemed like the creature was getting impatient as it began tugging at Hoseok's trousers, pulling him in a certain direction.
"I'm no dog expert, and we really should get somewhere safe, but I think he's trying to tell you something." Leanne said from behind him, and he knitted his brows.

"You think?" He asked, earning a nod in reply. Hobi turned to the girl, giving her puppy eyes as if he was pleading for permission, and she eventually gave in with a big sigh.
"Yes, you can follow him. But not without me." She said, and Hobi practically exclaimed in excitement, not failing to draw a smile from Leanne at his childishness. She found it admirable and adorable how he could change from a badass alien destroyer to a puppy lover in an instant. Literally.

Standing upright from his crouched position, Hoseok followed as the dog began leading them in the direction of a small ditch, it's barks becoming more desperate as they followed. Nearing the ditch, Leanne noticed something and gasped, flinging an arm across Hobi's chest to prevent him from going any further. Realising what she had caught onto, Hoseok's eyes widened at a creature lying on the floor.

"Is that... a cynoid?!" Hobi exclaimed, noticing huge, midnight-black wings that lay mangled in the floor, protruding from a motionless black body. A cynoid was a bat-like alien, with black scales that covered its entire body. Two white fangs inhabited its large red mouth, white and deadly. They were blind creatures that came out at night, locating their prey through clicks and screeches as a form of echolocation, and people would take these haunting sounds as a signal to get the fuck out of there.

But this one was dead, canine teeth marks littering it's wings which showed that it must have been held down by none other than the dog that they had just discovered. Though, looking over the corpse, Hoseok was slightly more confused and worried due to another wound that pierced its scales and dug deep into the flesh of its chest. A bullet wound.
"L-Leanne? It was shot. There's someone nearby." Hobi said, a hint of worry in his words, but hearing a gasp behind him signalled that they might have just figured it out.

"Um... Hobi?." Leanne murmured, pointing towards the ditch. Hobi furrowed his eyebrows and looked where she was pointing, an unexpected gasp leaving his lips as his eyes fell upon an unknown man laying unconscious in the ditch.

"I think we've just worked it out."
