After gaining some best friend advice from Leanne once he'd heard a door slam, indicating that Yoongi was outside, Hoseok refused to sit there any longer without going to check up on the older male and apologise. Grabbing a blanket from the throw of the bed, he leapt up, striding through the dark and cold cottage corridor, through the kitchen and to the back door that he heard Yoongi leave through not to long ago. He just hoped to God that he hadn't gone too far.
Hoseok inwardly cursed the male for stupidly going outside, at night and alone with no form of protection, but his anger quickly dispersed into a stronger feeling of concern and guilt.
This was his fault after all.He couldn't help but shudder as his hand landed on the cold doorknob, twisting it tentatively while he tried to leave the house as quietly as possible. His heart sunk as he stepped outside, the biting chill of the night immediately snatching any warmth from him as he wrapped his arms tightly around his frame in a desperate attempt to block out some of the cold. He was wearing a thick hoodie, but Yoongi left wearing only a thin tshirt, so he promised himself that he'd get the older back inside as quickly as possible so that he didn't get sick.
An audible sigh of relief left his lips when he saw Yoongi seated on the grass only a few metres away, his frail frame and fading mint hair illuminated in the moonlight. He moved forwards to the other with caution, Yoongi not noticing that he had company until a patchy blanket wash laid loosely over his shoulders.
Touching the fabrics with his hands out of confusion, the older male looked up, shrinking into himself as he was met with the dark eyes of none other than Hoseok himself. The orange-haired male sent him a sorrowful smile, gesturing to the ground beside Yoongi.
"Can I sit here?" He asked softly, Yoongi hesitating before nodding slowly and watching as Hoseok sat beside him. Yoongi was clearly trying to keep his stern persona, eyes narrowed and expression mostly blank as he sat, still as a stone. But only Hobi would notice the way he avoided all eye contact with him, and how he twiddled his fingers anxiously in his lap, causing the younger's gaze on him to soften."Yoongi, can we talk?" Hoseok asked quietly, Yoongi scoffing and shrugging at that.
"It's not like we've got anything better to do." He grumbled, Hoseok sighing and looking up at the full moon above them.
"I suppose you're right. Listen, I'm sorry, Yoongi. I didn't want to hurt you." Hoseok said, his sincerity in his tone going straight down the road to Yoongi's heart, despite all of the speed bumps and stop signs that the older had always been determined to keep. The older just sighed and leant back on his elbows."You don't have anything to apologise for. It's my own stupid fault that I put you on the spot. I was just... so fed up of not knowing what I feel, you know? It gave me so much anxiety I had to get it off my chest, but I didn't mean to shout, that was dumb." Yoongi said quietly, Hoseok nodding and going so soft at the fact that Yoongi seemed so much smaller than usual right now.
"It's not that I don't like you Yoongi, I'm just unsure. The truth is, I've never been in a relationship before, and I'm worried that I'll hurt you... again." Hobi replied through a sigh, biting his lip as Yoongi frowned and turned to look at him."You haven't hurt me, Hobi, and I know you wouldn't. I genuinely trust you more than anyone I've ever met. But you seriously haven't? Damn, I thought someone with your looks would have been swarmed by dudes." Yoongi chuckled, Hoseok blushing slightly as he chuckled along, feeling relieved at the lift of mood.
"I could say the same for you." Hoseok said, Yoongi scoffing again and shaking his head as his void-like eyes examined the darkness that sat in front of them."Nah, I'm nothing special. I'm honestly a shitty person. You certainly deserve better." Yoongi replied with a sad smile cast in Hobi's direction, confused to be met with the younger looking almost angry at his words.
"Yes, you are special, and I mean it. You don't deserve me? Pshh. More like I don't deserve you. My God Yoongi, if only you could see what I see." Hoseok blurted adamantly, the shorter male getting visibly flustered as he tried to hide it by running a hand over his burning face.A moment of silence hung between the two, and it was slightly uncomfortable, so, placing a hand on Yoongi's shoulder, Hobi turned the older male towards him. Yoongi gave him a questioning look, but decided not to shake Hoseok's hand off.
"So, why is it that you trust me? What makes me any different?" Hoseok asked out of curiosity, Yoongi exhaling deeply and shrugging slightly.
"You're always ready to help, and you're so positive all the time I swear it gives me whiplash." Yoongi started, earning a chuckle and a pride-full look from the fiery-haired male."It's like you always know exactly how to help me, and I don't know what it is, but I only feel comfortable around you. Is... is that okay?" Yoongi mumbled somewhat shyly, completely taken by shock as Hoseok wrapped an arm around his shoulders, pulling the smaller male closer to his body.
"Yes Yoongi, of course it is."
The mellowness of his voice and the warmth of his body made Yoongi realise how much he really did need this guy in his life. He felt so conflicted and hateful towards his own emotions, but now it was all starting to become a little more clear."I'm sorry for throwing all of this at you. I was fucking selfish and didn't think about how you'd feel. Why don't we just forget that I ever said anything?" Yoongi said through an awkward chuckle, but he soon fell silent when a finger was brought to his chin, tilting his head up to meet Hoseok's eyes. Hoseok looked at him with so much kindness, warmth and admiration that Yoongi wanted nothing but to put a joyful smile on the younger's thin lips. He hadn't even noticed how endearing he found the fact that Hobi's lips formed a perfect heart when he smiled genuinely, until now, a time when he wanted the orange-haired male to do nothing but smile.
Damn, since when were his eyes this pretty?
"But what if I don't want to forget it?" Hoseok said with a small smile, Yoongi's mouth hanging open, but not a single word or sound passed his lips as he sat in his state of shock and confusion.
"Please don't play with my feelings." Yoongi eventually managed to say quietly but fiercely, Hoseok rolling his eyes as he continued to hold the other close.
"I would never, and you know it. I know you wouldn't either. I trust you, Yoongi." The younger said, smiling as Yoongi relaxed and leant his head on his shoulder."I trust you too, Hoseok."
