Chapter 34

After getting the all clear from the camp officials, Namjoon drove the van through the camp, parking it right next to the medical bay. After turning off the ignition, he turned from the front seat to the others in the back, slinging his arm over the back of the chair as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Thankyou guys for this, really. I don't think I've ever met a squad quite as efficient as yours." Namjoon said with a smile, the others nodding towards him.

"Considering we're all still in one piece, I'll say it wasn't a problem." Jungkook replied, the rest of them chuckling a little at his response.
Apart from some scratches here and there, and a broken window, the van was completely intact with little to no damage to all of Namjoon and Jin's equipment. They all exited the van, collectively making their way into the medical bay where Seokjin and Kwan were waiting for them.

Jungkook was the first to enter, and Seokjin's eyes widened at his entrance.
"Is Joon okay?" Was the first thing that Jin asked as they all piled into the room, and they stepped out of the way to let Namjoon through.
"Thank God." Jin sighed, quickly hugging his husband before turning to the group. Kwan quickly ran over and reunited with her owner happily, Yoongi taking a moment to pet the dog and keep her at his heels.
"The van is secure, sir." Jungkook announced to Seokjin, a wave of relief washing over the oldest male.
"Thankyou guys so much. I never doubted you for a second." Jin said, Namjoon raising an eyebrow to him at the subtle lie in his words.

"Besides that, how can we repay you?" Namjoon asked the squad, Jungkook looking to the others who all knowingly nodded towards him.
"We actually came to East Camp in the first place to see if we could be of assistance to you and your job. Maybe you could repay us by accepting our offer?" Jungkook suggested, Namjoon biting the inside of his cheek and looking to Jin, who just shrugged.

"I suppose it could benefit us. But we're currently being sought after by many camp officials, and this is the only camp that is welcoming enough to let us stay and work here. It is the science camp, after all." Jin said, and Namjoon sighed.
"We need to find somewhere that is safe and secluded to do our work, so you'd have to travel with us to try and find a suitable area. It could be dangerous. Very dangerous." Namjoon said, and Jungkook nodded in understanding.

"We don't belong to a camp, so it's not like we have anywhere to go anyway." Hoseok added, and the two scientists smiled a little at that.
"We can plan our destination over dinner tonight then. That means that we can fill you in on our findings on the way. As long as Joon and I get to carry on doing our research, this should be alright." Jin suggested, but they were interrupted as the door opened once more, Kana urgently coming into the room.
"Dinner will have to wait guys. I'm really sorry to disturb, but it's urgent." Kana said, the nine of them turning to her with worried and confused expressions.

"What is it?" Jungkook asked, feeling slight unease as he noticed the bright girl's expression turn darker.
"South Camp has notified us that they are sending people to all major camps to look for some runaways, and I believe they're talking about you. I'm sorry, I tried to persuade them that you are not here but they didn't listen. Officials and hired trackers and on their way here now, and you need to go if you have any hopes of not being spotted." Kana explained, Jungkook turning with wide eyes to Hoseok and cursing under his breath.
"Sorry about this guys." Jungkook said with a troubled look, the others managing to smile at him. Jungkook felt a hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay Kook. Where you go, we go." Taehyung said reassuringly, Jungkook nodding with an appreciative smile.

"You're fugitives?!" Namjoon asked incredulously, and Leanne stepped in to answer this one.
"Long story short, South Camp is an awful place filled with awful people, and Hoseok found and rescued Jungkook who was being tortured there or something shitty like that. We're not the criminals here. Move now, explain later." Leanne said, Namjoon just nodding at the strong female's words as he didn't dare to argue, helping Jin to his feet.
