Jin and Namjoon were sat nearby, and Jungkook turned to them, catching their attention. The two scientists were always rather secretive, sharing their findings but not much about themselves, and if they were going to be surviving together, getting to know each other was rather important. The youngest smiled as the handsome purple-haired male looked up at him, his husband catching on and doing the same.

"So, were you guys both scientists before the breakout?" Jungkook asked, the two shaking their heads.
"I've been an aerospace scientist for years. In fact, it was in charge of the research centre that discovered the meteor's change in course, spreading the word to the authorities, not that it ended up helping anything." Namjoon said with a sense of longing pride, Jungkook nodding and raising his eyes brows at the shocking information.
"And I was a doctor, as you've probably already worked out. That's why I focus mainly on medicines and antidotes." Jin added, Jungkook smiling.

"I'm very glad that we've come across both of you there. How did you two meet, if you don't mind me asking?" Jungkook queried, Namjoon smiling at Jin and taking his hand.
"We were two of the first people to form East Camp, which is why we're so welcome there. We got curious about each other's findings, worked together, and yeah. We got secretly married last year." Namjoon said, and Jin chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"I always dreamed of having a small wedding, but a rushed ceremony with ten people in a collapsing church was not my original plan." Jin laughed, Namjoon chuckling from beside him.

"How about you, kid? Where were you before all of this?" Namjoon asked, Jungkook sighing and pulling his army jacket from his bag.
"I was in the military, with Jimin actually. We were on the frontline in Tanzania to evacuate everyone when the meteor was confirmed." Jungkook explained, the two elders nodding with impressed expressions.
"It's kind of crazy how we all have a part in this, and how we've all ended up surviving and coming together as a group." Hoseok said, joining the conversation as he sat beside Jungkook with Yoongi at his other side.

"I'll never forget the fire in the research facility that almost killed me before all of this." Namjoon said with a voice thick with reminiscence, but his words caused Yoongi to furrow his eyebrows and narrow his eyes at him.
"Oh you're definitely that crazy scientist dude who ran at me, trying to warn me about a meteor. I didn't believe you at first, obviously, but you kinda saved my ass so thanks I guess." Yoongi said out of nowhere, Namjoon widening his eyes and pointing at the mint-haired male.

"That was you?! I remember that! Woah, what a small world." Namjoon said in shock, the others all chuckling together.
"Wait, it's crazy that a lot of us had a connection with each other before any of this. Some of us met and didn't even know it! It's like the nine of us are soulmates." Hoseok said with a laugh, bringing a hand to his chin as he thought back on previous discussions.
"You're right," Jungkook agreed, "Yoongi was a police officer who was inspecting the fire at Namjoon's workplace, and Taehyung was also there, obviously, as a firefighter. Jimin and I were both in the military together, and when I got separated from Jimin I met Hoseok and Leanne. Then Jin and Yuri were added into the equation."

By now, everyone was sat around, listening to the conversation that was being had, and growing more shocked by the second.
"Damn, what are the odds?" Leanne laughed, the others nodding and looking around at each other.
"Well, they were clearly in our favour." Jungkook said with a smile, not a single person hesitating to agree with that. They were lucky to have come across each other, and together they were more like friends than people who stick together just to work and survive. It was... different.

An hour passed rather too quickly, but as the sun began to lower to the horizon, they knew they had to start moving sooner than later. Once they had checked that Yuri's condition had improved, the nine of them picked up their bags and stared at the woods that stood proudly in front of them.
"So, most common aliens to be found in the woods?" Hoseok asked with a nervous chuckle, Jin standing up with a huff as he slung his bag over his shoulders.
