"Jungkook, we've reached the outskirts. When you're ready we can begin our route through the city." Leanne announced, Jungkook happily giving the go-ahead to Hoseok.
"As long as everyone's happy, let's get moving. We need to hit the ground running rather than go stumbling our way into this." Jungkook said, a chorus of hums in agreement being heard in relation to his statement.
"The two skyscrapers either side indicate which road to take. Just go straight down the middle." Yoongi grumbled to Hoseok, who widened his eyes at Yoongi's sense of direction.

"Woah Yoongi, you're literally a genius at this." Hoseok complimented naively, driving where Yoongi directed him to go, and the other rolled his eyes.
Jungkook went over to the weaponry that Leanne had sorted and stored neatly in the inside compartments of the RV, and began reloading all of them to ensure that they were ready for anything. Some people would say that anyone who enters the city has a death wish, but if you took the right routes and had the right training, it was entirely possible to travel somewhat safely.

While the others were gathered at the front, scanning around for danger and preparing themselves, Taehyung had been told to sit at the back on the thin sofa due to his injury. He watched as the scene from outside of the window unfolded, turning from a natural sunset to the shadows of a crumbling and abandoned urban area. At one point, all five of them were staring at the distant skyscrapers in wonder, some of them never having been that close to them.

"It really does look dystopian, doesn't it. There's an eerie beauty about it; how much it's changed." Leanne breathed, Jungkook nodding from beside her as they stared through the front windscreen.
"Yeah. It never fails to amaze me." He sighed, deciding to get back into his serious mode as they had a long and dangerous journey ahead of them, and there was no turning back now.
Taehyung peeled his gaze away from the window to look at the four people that were crowded around the front, a sad smile creeping its way up to his thin lips. They were a strange bunch, but were kindhearted nonetheless.

Too bad he wasn't going to be with them for long.

A sharp pang in his shoulder made him wince and bring his hand to it, mild nausea then following, sweeping over him as he supported himself against the chair. A horrible sensation settled in the pit of his stomach as reality began to hit him, telling him that he really didn't have long. Part of him wanted to run away from the darkness that was gradually but inevitably closing in on him, but another part of him wanted to embrace and accept it. Not that there was exactly anything he could do about it.

Things seemed to be going rather smoothly, until Jungkook felt Kwan bolt past his legs and run to the back of the RV. Considering Taehyung had mentioned that Kwan was a trained service dog and a police dog, Jungkook thought it was strange that she'd leave her owner just like that as she was nothing but obedient and calm, and wondered what had caught her attention. None of the others seemed to have noticed, so Jungkook thought he'd go back there to see what's up, a frown overtaking his lips at what he saw.

Kwan was laying flat against Taehyung's stomach and lap as he lay back on the sofa, his body trembling and his breathing short as sweat pooled between his brows.
"Taehyung?"
The brown-haired male didn't respond to Jungkook's voice. In fact, he wasn't responding to anything at that precise moment in time. At first Jungkook thought he might be anxious, his outward body language would suggest so, but something told him that that just wasn't the case.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked in concern, knowing that something definitely was horribly wrong here. He leaned over the trembling male, who stiffly shook his head.

"I'm fine. It's just nerves." He stuttered, running his long fingers through the dog's fur, but Jungkook wouldn't believe it for a second. Kwan tilted her head and began licking at Taehyung's shoulder, clearly causing Taehyung visible pain as he winced and groaned slightly.
"Are you-" Jungkook froze mid-sentence as Kwan jumped off of Taehyung and began barking loudly, the reason why showing only seconds later.

"What's going on back there?" Yoongi groaned, calling for his dog to come over, but she stayed put and continued to bark, signalling that there must have been a problem. Jungkook watched in horror as Taehyung's eyes rolled back into his head, his body not trembling anymore, but shaking violently as sweat glistened on his forehead and froth formed at his lips.
"Fuck's sake- he's having a seizure. I could use a hand over here." Jungkook yelled, quickly picking Taehyung up and laying him on the floor so that he wouldn't fall or hit anything as his spasms got worse.

"Are you serious??" Leanne asked with wide eyes, turning to see that Taehyung was lying on the floor with Jungkook leaning over him.
A lace of curses left Yoongi's lips, the smaller man dropping the map and running from the front as Hoseok found a place where he could stop safely. Leanne was already by Jungkook's side, their minds going crazy as they tried to work out what to do. Inhuman sounds and gasps came from Taehyung's mouth as his body shook uncontrollably, scaring them.

He was dying.

"It looks like he's been poisoned... get me the sanberries... quickly!" Leanne shouted, watching as Yoongi ran over to the coolbox at the front of the RV, cursing as he looked inside.
"There's only one left... that'll hardly be enough to cure him if it's got this far already." Yoongi called back to them, the others panicking harder.
"It will sustain him for a little bit longer, hurry and give it to me!" Leanne ordered, Yoongi handing her the sanberry and watching as she squeezed the purple juices out of the fruit and let it drip down Taehyung's throat. Choking sounds came from the shaking male as he gasped for air, his episode slowly fading while the others fussed over him.

"There's nothing more we can do if he was attacked with a spike." Hoseok spoke shakily as he walked up behind the others. He found it hard to see others in pain and was also squeamish, so only came over when Taehyung's seizure had released him. Sometimes something in the poison stops the wound from bleeding, which had clearly made it harder to locate where it had happened on Taehyung, and they all cursed themselves for not noticing.

"Was Kwan licking his skin in a particular place?" Yoongi asked Jungkook seriously as their eyes hunted for a mark, the raven-haired nodding in realisation.
"Yeah, his right shoulder." He mumbled as he subconsciously brought an inked hand to his own shoulder, watching as Yoongi pulled back the fabric of Taehyung's shirt, only to reveal what they both feared and expected.

A spike stab wound.
