The following week after the Slytherin vs. Hufflepuff match was a good one for Scorpius. Everyone congratulated him and patted him on the back. Even though he was proud of himself, he did not want to play the next match. That was the big Gryffindor vs. Slytherin. That was a month away, so Jessica should be better by then. Other than thinking about that, everything else was going well for Scorpius. Like any typical fifth year, he had a lot of homework, but he kept up on it. He always looked forward to homework because he got to do it with Rose. The two continued to go to the library to study everyday. This was the highlight of Scorpius's day. When they weren't discussing the topic they were studying, they often small talked about little things like Quidditch, and the novels they were reading. They never really had a deep conversation. But, Scorpius wanted to change this. He wanted to have a nice, deep, conversation with Rose. This topic dawned over Scorpius over and over again. How? How would he get her alone without studying? She would be suspicious. Scorpius really wanted to just get her alone. No school work. Just her. Scorpius kept thinking about this as him and Al walked back to the common room from breakfast.

"Oh, they posted the Hogsmeade dates for this year." Al pointed out.

"It looks like the first one is next weekend." Albus added after he pointed out the list posted on the board.

"Really?" Scorpius said. This was it. His chance. He could ask her to go to Hogsmeade with him. After this, a million thought flooded Scorpius's head.

"Wait. Hold on. Would she want to? She probably wouldn't. She'd get suspicious. She's probably going with her friends. No. she's probably going with someone else. NO! Would she say yes? Would she think it's a date? Is it a date? No. Yes. No. Maybe? Ok fine, I'd treat it as a date. Would she treat it as a date? Would she want to go on a date with me?" Scorpius thought, as he was suddenly interrupted.

"Scorp?" Albus said as he waved his hand in front of Scorpius's face, snapping him out of his massive thinking war.

"Oh, sorry." Scorpius responded.

"I can't go. I've got a detention." Albus added.

"Again! What did you do this time?" Scorpius said.

"I may have worn my Vans to class again." Albus said with a grin on his face.

"Again!" Scorpius responded.

"What! They're much more comfortable than dress shoes!"  Albus said laughing, as the two boys progressed to get ready for class.

This was a distraction for Scorpius for about 0.00001 seconds. He really wanted to ask Rose to Hogsmeade. This would be perfect. Albus wouldn't be there, so it wouldn't be awkward. It would just be Rose and Scorpius. Walking through the village, with the chilly autumn breeze flowing through Rose's red, curly, locks. Oh Rose! Scorpius just sighed at this. That's it. He had to ask her. He made a mental note that he had to ask her. The worst thing she could do is say no, right? Okay, settled. When would he ask her though?

Scorpius's thinking was interrupted yet once again as they reached the Potions classroom. And there she was. She went to take her seat. Her curly locks flowing down her back. Then, she lifted her hair up so it wouldn't get stuck on the back of her seat. When she did this, Scorpius's pupils must have multiplied twice in size. The rest of the class went the same as usual, Scorpius and Rose's hands competing to be raised to answer questions. Okay, it went mostly the same as usual. The only thing that was added was Scorpius was staring at Rose's hair as it moved when she raised her hand. Then, without Scorpius noticing at first, Professor Slughorn said class was dismissed. When Scorpius headed toward the door, the red head was waiting for him.

"Same as usual tonight." Rose asked Scorpius.

"Yes. Definitely." Scorpius responded.

With that, Rose shot Scorpius a smile, and then caught up with one of her friends. That was it. He had to ask her tonight. This would be the perfect chance. He had to do it soon. He knew Colton McClaggen had a crush on her. Oh Scorpius hated Colton McClaggen with a passion. Whenever they had Prefect meetings, he would flirt with Rose. This angered Scorpius very much. He wished he was Rose's Prefect partner. He knew if he didn't ask Rose soon, that Colton would ask her. He would have to ask her tonight.
