Chapter 23: Al's Birthday & O.W.L. Scores

Quick A/N: Okay, so I promised that this chapter would go back to Scorose. And yes, it will, But, the majority of this will probably still be about Albus. I think you still enjoy it though. Sorry for the inconvenience. I 100% promise that the next chapter will go back to Scorose. I kind of needed to do a part 2 for the last chapter to make it make sense in the end. Let's get on with the story!

After dinner that night, Albus immediately went up to his room to write a response to Scorpius. Al knew that Scorpius was probably waiting all day for his response. He walked over to his desk, took Mo out of her crate, set her on his shoulder, and began to write a letter.

Hey Scorp,

Sorry for not writing back sooner, but I've had an eventful day. But, before I get into that, I saw your and Rose's snogg. Me and Lily watched it. It's fine with me if you two start a relationship. You clearly both like each other. But, just to make myself clear, if you ever hurt her, I will have to hurt you, along with all of my male cousins, brother, and Teddy. Just so you know, there will be a lot of people after you if you ever hurt her. Anyway, that had to be said, now, from what I saw, it looked enjoyable. I'm sure I'll hear about it from Rose soon. Now, let me tell you about my eventful day. We had to go back to school today, because my parents agreed to host a foreign transfer student. Her names Caroline, she's 14, and she's from America. She's got soft looking, sandy colored hair, with the tips died pink, and it falls right above her shoulders. She's also got violet eyes. Yea, violet, like purple. I've never seen anyone with violet eyes before. It's like starring into sapphires. Oh, and my parents said you could come stay with us next month. To be exact, the second week of July. I'll write to you what I got for my birthday.

Al scribbled this down on a piece of parchment, not realizing what he was writing towards the end. He basically wrote what was going through his head. He quickly put the piece of parchment in an envelope, and with Mo still on his shoulder, and headed downstairs to give the letter to Wigdon to deliver. The only downfall of having a ferret instead of an owl was that you had to use your parents owl for deliveries. When he got down there, Caroline and Lily were in the kitchen, playing with a ferret. Wait. Another ferret?

"Oh, hey Al." Lily said as she watched her brother come down the stairs.

"Hey. Just delivering a letter to Scorp." Albus replied, handing the letter to Wigdon to deliver.

"Already? It's been one day since you two have seen each other! Going through withdrawals?" Lily asked sarcastically.

"No, and for your information, Rose is probably the one going through withdrawals." Al responded with the same amount of sarcasm. Lily laughed at this. The sibling gave each other a knowing look, then Caroline piped in and said something.

"Oh, wow, she's beautiful!" Caroline said to Albus, directing the comment towards Mo.

"Oh, um yea. This is Mo. I've had her since I was 11. I actually got her for my 11th birthday." Albus said as he took Mo off his shoulder, and put her on the floor. Caroline just talked to him. When the words came out of her mouth, it was like they were inflating Albus's insides like a breeze, making his insides do a backflip.

"That's nice. This is Bob. I have had him since he was an infant. His mom abandoned him, and I couldn't let him starve. Ever since then, he's been my best companion." Caroline replied, as she sat Bob down on the floor. Bob and Mo immediately went towards each other, doing something that ferrets do.

Albus and Caroline had a full conversation on ferrets. Both of them had words flowing out of themselves so naturally. It was so easy to talk to each other. Lily just stood there listening to her brother and new best friend talk about ferrets very passionately. Then, realization hint her. The way they were looking at each other. She knew that look. They fancied each other. They both fancied the other, not knowing that the other fancied them back. She would totally interrogate her brother about this later.
