Chapter 60: The Graduation Ball

The next day, Rose was sitting at her desk in her bedroom in the Heads Flat, while Lily was applying Sleek-eazys hair potion, and flat ironing Rose's hair. Rose smiled when Lily turned her chair around and allowed for Rose to look at herself in the mirror.

"Wow." Is all Rose could manage to say. She looked like never before in her life. She thought she looked pretty good. She had put on the dark green gown, and matched it with a pretty gold pair of heels. Then, Lily asked if she could do Rose's hair, and of course, Rose said yes. As she looked herself over in the mirror, Rose kept running her hands over her hair. She wasn't used to having her hair this flat and straight. She liked it. It was long when it was curly, but now that it was straight, it flowed down her back all the way almost to her butt.

"Okay, the Sleek-eazys should last you the night. It'll probably start to ware off while your asleep tonight. I wish I could go with you guys!" Lily said, as she combed through Rose's hair one last time, while Caroline was sitting on Rose's bed applying a pretty shimmery eyeshadow.

"Two years. Line's just lucky, she'll get to go twice." Rose replied, still running her fingers through her new hair.

"Okay, I'm done. Now for you Rose. I think a nice gold eyeshadow would pair nicely, won't it Lils?" Caroline said, as she got up from her spot on Rose's bed. She looked really good too. She had on her pinky-magentaish colored dress, a pair of sliver heels, and a pretty matching headpiece in her hair. Rose had asked Caroline to do her makeup. The only makeup Rose could really do was a simple everyday look. But, doing makeup for an occasion like this was out of her league. Caroline was actually really good at doing makeup, so along with doing herself, Rose had asked her to do hers.

Then, Caroline laid down all the products on Rose's desk. Rose was surprised at how many different things she had, but, she supposed that it was all part of the process. Rose just sat there as Caroline sponged, brushed, flicked, and applied all the makeup to her face. After about a half hour, Caroline said something indicating like she was done.

"Okay. Wow Rose, just wait until Scorpius sees you. He's probably going to faint." Caroline said, backing away from Rose's face, and directing her that she could now open her eyes. When Rose opened her eyes, her jaw almost hit the floor. She had never looked this good before in her entire life. She had never worn this much makeup, this fancy of a dress, or this tall of heels in her life. But, she wasn't complaining about it. She liked every once in a while to feel pretty. Everything was perfect, her outfit went all perfect together. The dark green color of the dress complimented the shade of ginger in her hair really nicely. The gold color of her shoes, eye makeup, and rose shaped jewelry Scorpius had gotten her now over two years ago, all paired perfectly together.

"He almost faints on a normal day. Oh I wish I could be there to see his reaction!" Lily said, unplugging the flat iron. She definitely was jealous of her friends. While they were getting ready for the ball, in beautiful gowns, hair, and makeup, Lily was sitting there in an old pair of jeans and a Gryffindor hoodie, with her hair whipped back in a ponytail.

The girls stayed in Rose's bedroom for a little while longer, before having to leave for the ball. Maybe when Albus questioned, Why are you guys leaving so early, the ball doesn't start for 3 hours!?!, he may of had a point. But, the girls used this time to get couaght up with each other. Rose had been so busy lately with all her responsibilities, she really didn't have that much time to see or talk to Lily and Caroline.

"So, Lily, enough about me and Caroline and our love lives, what about you? Are you talking to anyone? I feel like if my brother can get a girlfriend, your bound to meet someone." Rose said, without getting up from the desk chair she was sitting in. When she said this, Lily's face turned red, and Caroline started laughing.
