(Okay, I'm so sorry for ANOTHER time skip! Really, I am. I just didn't have any other good ideas for 6th year. The summer between 6th and 7th year is probably the most exciting for me to write. And, 7th year itself. You'll see what I mean. You have to trust me on this one.)
Months past since Scorpius went over to Rose's house for dinner with her parents. Summer break was now approaching. This year had been an amazing one for Scorpius and Rose. It was their first official school year with each other. It had been the best school year for both of them in all of their Hogwarts years. They couldn't wait to see what 7th year had in store. The end of 6th year had been spent studying for exams, Apparation practice, and the final Quidditch matches of the year. The contenders for the Quidditch cup were of course Slytherin and Gryffindor.
But, with Lily as Seeker, Gryffindor won. That championship match went very similar to the match they played against Slytherin before. Scorpius kept scoring and scoring, but, with Lily spotting the Snitch, Gryffindor won. It would have been nice if Slytherin won, but Scorpius was happy for his girlfriend, and his best mate's sister, and their whole team/family. After the match, Scorpius met up with Draco, and Rose met up with the Weasley-Potter, and Lupin clan. After meeting up with their families, Scorpius was invited to go down to The Three Broomsticks with them all. So, Scorpius said goodbye to his father, and told him he'd see him in two weeks.
The afternoon at The Three Broomsticks was awesome. Everyone treated Scorpius like family. They all laughed and talked around the large table, mostly congratulating Lily. Everyone laughed when James made some snarky remarks. Like, "How come you guys didn't celebrate this much all the times I caught the Snitch in the championship before?" Ginny gave him a playful hit on the arm that showed the expression of, "Be happy for your sister, You're a Professional Seeker anyways now." Everyone couldn't stop laughing at James. Anyways, Scorpius had a great time with Al and Rose's family. Sometimes, Scorpius missed having a good family like this. Really, he never did, but, times like this would be nice to have a normal, happy, family.
Another thing that was good about the end of the year was Apparation practice. If all the 6th Years could pass these lessons, then, they would be able to Apparate and Dissaparate by their 17th birthday. For Scorpius and Rose, these lessons were pretty successful. Both we're able to Apparate and Dissaparate in and out of different spots down in Hogsmeade. And, both Rose and Scorpius were either 17, or almost 17. But, another good factor to this whole thing was, Rose and Scorpius wouldn't have to depend on the Floo system to see each other anymore. With the snap of their fingers, they could be at each other's houses. That would come in very handy this summer.
With 6th Year wrapping up, that meant the end of year exams. Since we're talking about Scorpius and Rose, aka some of the nerdiest, studiers in the world, they spent every moment of free time studying. They always quizzed each other in multiple different subjects. When exam time did come, you can imagine how that went for the both of them. Highest scores in their year. Scorpius and Rose were pretty happy about this, and when they talked about it, Al gave them his signature eye roll.
Now that all those things were out of the way, and the school year was coming to a close, Rose and Scorpius had some free time. This free time was spent down at their spot by the lake.
"I can't believe it's already been almost a year." Rose said, all cuddled up with Scorpius.
"I know, and it has probably been the best year of my life." Scorpius said back, playing with one of her ringlets of hair.
At his comment, Rose gave a nice, quick, kiss. Not a very passionate one though. She was always afraid someone would see. They were Prefects, she didn't want to set a bad example. Scorpius, of course, thought that idea was silly.
When Rose pulled away, she said, "Really?"
"Yes, Really. Rosie, you have made this year amazing. I can't imagine you not in my life. I think this is the happiest I've been since my mum passed away." Scorpius said, staring into Rose's big, deep blue eyes.
"Wow Scorp." Is all Rose could choke out. That sentence really touched Rose. It made her indies do back flips. She played every memory in her mind of her and Scorpius. She could remember when she was younger, she thought Scorpius was most irritating person in the world. She was so glad she let herself get to actually know him. Gosh. She loved him so much. She really couldn't imagine this year without him either.
"I'm telling the truth. Rose Nyphadora Weasley, I love you. I always have. I can remember my 11 year old self seeing this red haired girl on the train, and I thought she was the prettiest girl I ever saw. And, I wasn't wrong. She was and is. I remember I used to be so awkward around you. Al used to get so irritated with me when I used to go on and on about you. Heck, he still does. But, anyways, Rose, you have made this year wonderful. I love you." Scorpius went on to say. This melted Rose's heart into a million pieces. She didn't know if she could top that.
"Oh, Scorp. That's probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. I love you too. Actually, now that I think about it, when I was 11, I saw this platinum blond haired boy on a train. When I laid my eyes on him, I felt something I never felt before. I was pretty annoyed at that, and I tried to block it out. But, I failed at that. Then, I realized that there was no point in acting annoyed about it. I fancied you. All that time I thought I despised you, I really fancied you. This past year, has been a really good one for me too. I love you Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy." Rose said, straight from the heart. She did mean every word she said. She was so glad that she brought Scorpius back into the light, from being in the darkness for so long.
Scorpius didn't say anything. To show that he completely understood, he took Rose, and dragged her face towards his. The gap was closed. It felt so good when their lips locked. That would never, ever, get old. No matter how many times their lips locked, or if they told each other I love you, it was still like the first time the other said it or did that action. Every time something like that happened, it made both of their hearts skip beats. It was like something new and fascinating occurred every time their lips touched.
When they broke apart, they stared at each other, like never before. The read so deep into the irises of the the others. Many memories that the two had with each other played in their heads, dating all the way back to the first time they laid eyes on each other on the train 6 years ago.
Scorpius and Rose remained like that for the longest time. Those two were so in love. They couldn't wait to see what this summer and next year would bring. Next year. It was their last year at Hogwarts. Both wondered what would be the next chapters in their lives. But, both of them knew, or hoped, that it would be spent together. As Scorpius was staring into Rose's eyes, and leaned his forehead onto hers, he imagined a scene in his head.
He hadn't told anyone this before, but he saw that scene before. When he was Divination the other day. They were practicing crystal ball gazing. He only saw something for a split second, but, he knew what he saw, and it had made his face light up. The scene was Rose in a white dress. It only lasted 0.2 seconds, but it was there. Scorpius knew. He knew exactly what that meant. He loved Rose so much. He couldn't see himself with anyone else. He was in love with this girl since he was 11. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her,
Rose and Scorpius stayed in their spot by the lake until the sun set. It was truly a beautiful scene, the sun setting behind the castle, with the water of the lake shimmering in the sunlight. Both Rose and Scorpius couldn't wait for summer to start. They looked forward to summer days together. Days at The Burrow with all of Rose's family. Days at the beach at Rose's aunt and uncles house. Days in the Quidditch pitch at Malfoy Manor.
Author's Notes:
Hey guys! Sorry, this chapter was super short. I only had an hour to write today. But, I needed a good linking chapter between the end of 6th year, and the summer before 7th year. Again, I'm so sorry for the time skips. It just that, I didn't have really good ideas for the end of 6th year. Now, for the summer and 7th year, I pretty much have that all planned out already. I hope you understand. I still enjoyed writing this though. I hope you enjoyed the minutes it took you to read this. I really look forward to writing the rest of this. I hope you all stick with me, and like the story. I really can't you all enough for the votes, number of reads, and kind feedback. As always stay safe and healthy everyone.-christinahpfan12
