Chapter 9- You can't tell me who I can't be friends with

"So where have you been" Aidan asked me with a calm face but inside he is mad.

"Well I asked jaden if I could go around the neighborhood in the golf cart to see if there was any kids, and when I reached the tennis court I saw some kids. I was about to leave but then they invited me over to hang out with them. We talked a lot and the time passed by and I didn't realize it was past 6pm. Once I realized I drove back home. I'm sorry I didn't realize the time but I'm not gonna apologize for making friends and having fun." I said with a boost of confidence. I acted like they didn't scare me but I was shitting my pants.

"Well, you're not in trouble this time but try being on time next time" Aidan said to me, his face was calmer

"And don't keep your phone silent" Andrew said staring at me, his eyes were soft there was no anger behind it.

"Ok" I replied and went to the kitchen

Dinner was ready and we all sat down at the table.

"So tell us about your new friends" Andrew asked me

"Well they all go to Beverly high private school, so I'll have people I know already. They are all in my grade, and they all do sports, but some are different then others, and there names are Sean, Audrey, Isabella, Alex, and Jack." I replied

"Well at least you will have some friends when you go to school, that remind me you start on Monday so you have 2 days before so start getting ready. Jaden and ryan will help you through the school and your schedule the front office will give it" Aidan said to me

"Ok, cool" I said I didn't know what else to say

"Wait, what is Sean and Jack last name?" Ryan asked with curiosity in his face

"Umm I don't know, we didn't tell each other last name" I said shrugging my shoulder.

"Do they play basketball and soccer" he said with anger in his eyes

"Yeah, why" I replied with a nervous tone

"Alexis stay away from them" Jaden butt in

"Why, they are nice to me" I asked confused

"They aren't nice guys, they are players" Ryan replies still angry

"I've dealt with players, I'll be fine" I said with confidence. He's not gonna tell me who I cant hang out with.

"Alexis we aren't joking, you have to stay away from them." Jaden said with a stern face

"You guys can't tell me who I can't hang out with, they are the only friends I have. I am not gonna drop them because you two tell me to" I said getting mad

"Alexis we are doing this for your own good, please just listen to us" Jaden said with pleading eyes

"No, I'll be fine if it gets out of control I'll just tell him, I can handle players. It's not my first rodeo" I replied with an attitude

"Alexis listen to your brothers they are only doing it to keep you safe" Andrew butt in

"No it's bullshit if they think they can stop me from being friends with them. I am not a fuckin little girl, I can handle guys and I can handle my own problems. I don't need you guys to do that for me. I said furious. They can't fucking dictate my life

"Alexis drop the attitude and no cursing unless you want to be grounded" Aidan said glaring at me.

"Fine but if they do anything to you that's your problem not ours so don't bother running to us for help" Ryan said then storming out. You can see the anger in his face.

"Alexis we are just trying to help" Jaden said to me, trying to fix the situation.

"How many times do I need to tell I don't need your help" I replied annoyed

"Ok, whatever but don't come crawling to us for help"

The rest of the dinner was awkward, I finished my dinner, put my plate in the sink and went upstairs. I took a shower and put pajamas on and watched Netflix.

Ryan p.o.v

I stormed upstairs super pissed off. I know sean and jack very well. They were in my friend group but they left. I know what they did to girls and I don't want that to happen to Alexis. Why can't she just listen for once. They both are gonna hurt her and it's gonna hurt me the most. Ugh she makes me so mad sometimes. I decided to text jack and tell him not to mess with my sister, and if he does it's gonna be hell for him.

(J is for jack r is for Ryan)

R- Hey Jack

J- Hey Ryan long time since you texted, what's up?

R- wanted to give you a little warning if you hurt my little sister I swear to god I will make the rest of highschool miserable. Don't you dare touch my sister or hurt her.

J- umm I don't know what you're talking about? Who's your sister?

R- you met her like couple hours ago at the park.

J- your sister is Alexis?

R- yeah, so I swear to god if you do anything I will make your life hell, and that goes towards sean to. If I hear anything from her about you guys messing with her you don't know what I will do

J- bro chill I would never do that to Alexis, she seems really fun and chill. I would never hurt my friend. Also I wouldn't break bro code, I'm not an asshole

R- I can disagree with that but whatever. Just don't mess with her or you're dead

J- ok yeah I get it

R- good

I felt a some relief knowing he won't but I still have to watch out I don't trust jack. I heard a knock on my door. It was Jaden

"Come in" I said

"We need to talk about Alexis" he replied while entering my room

"It's already handled don't worry" I replied

"What did you do" Jaden questioned

"I just talked to jack, we're all good but we still have to watch over them to make sure nothing happens" I said seriously

"Yes I agree, he better not hurt her" he said sad

"He won't, he got the message don't worry" I said assuring him the safety of our sister

"Ok, if you say so. Goodnight" he replied while walking out.

"Goodnight" I said.

Alexis p.o.v

I ended up watching outer banks, and texted my new friends. We were planning to hang out tomorrow, so I had to ask one of my brothers. I'll ask Andrew since he's the nicest. I put my phone away and turned off the tv. I started thinking how Ryan and Jaden tried controlling my friend group. I'm old enough to take care of my own problems. I don't need them to tell me who I can't hang out with. It's not like I'm clueless and I know players signs. They treat me like I'm a little kid, when they I'm 16, not 12. I dozed off and fell asleep. Tomorrow better be fun
