Chapter 71- Go in the car

"You're no longer allowed to try out for the team" Aidan said

My heart shattered

"W-what" I said in disbelief

"You heard me, you're no longer allowed to" he said

"Aidan don't you think you're being unreasonable, you can't take away something she loves and has a passion" Ryan tried reasoning

"She can still play basketball, she has everything still all her electronics, friends, but she doesn't have the school basketball team" he said

"Aidan you cant do that, take away her phone, tv whatever but don't take away that" Andrew reasoned

"Aidan, that's her outlet, that's her stress reliever. That's her happy place, you know what it will do to her. It will drive her back in depression seeing her friends on the team that she was suppose to be on" Ace said

"Aidan take away anything you want but not basketball" I begged

He couldn't do this again.

"Dad do something" Jaden said

"Aidan, as her parent she should be able to go. Basketball is what she loves. I'm deciding that she is allowed to go" Robert said

Thank god he was on my side

"Well you're no longer her guardian so you have no right" he said

"Well I'm your father and hers so I can still decided" he said

"No you can't you signed away your parental rights" Aidan yelled

"Lexi slowly start walking away, and meet me in the car" Ace said

I nodded

I slipped away while Aidan and Robert were yelling. I quickly got out of the house and into Ace's car

He came out, and got in the car

"Thank you" I said

"You're welcome, now buckle up" he said

I put on my seat belt and we quickly drove out of the driveway and sped to the school.

I put on my shoes while he drives, and fixed my hair. We reached the school and I was just on time.

"Thank you, I'll be done at 5pm" I said

"Ok" he said

I closed the door and ran into the gym. The girls were warming up.

Jenna first noticed me and waved.

"Hey coach Megan" I said

"Hey Lexi, it's good to see you" she replied

"Good to see you too, thank you for the opportunity" I said

"You're welcome sweetie, go ahead and join the girls in their warmups." She said

"Ok" I replied

I put my stuff down and join the warmups.

It was a light warm up, we were shooting layups.

"You made it" Audrey said

"Yeah but I almost missed today" I replied

"How?" She asked

"I'll tell you after practice" I replied

We continued doing layups for another 5 minutes.

"Ok girls, this is Lexi, she will be working with us and I'll be evaluating her and seeing if she should he on this teams, so make her feel welcomed" she said
