The flashing lights. The cheering crowd. There are people everywhere. Some cheering my name, others holding up flashing posters and flags with my face on it. I didn't know so many people liked me! It's  time to make them like me even more!

"Ula Coral!" Ruby screams my name. The crowd chant my name as I stride onto the stage with a winning smile on my face. I love the hunger games.

"Hello Ruby! You look amazing! I love the headpiece." Ruby blushes as I admire her outfit. She's wearing a glittering red dress with tiny rubies attached randomly to the ends, resembling her name. Her head piece is stunning. It's made up of little red and white rubies and diamonds and when I look closer, I see that it is in the shape of an eye. Her red heels make her a little taller than me so I have to lift my chin a little to be face to face with her.

"Why thank you! I love yours as well! Coral certainly suits you!" My stylist insisted on me wearing a colour that resembles my name as well. It turned out alright. Ruby stands up and embraces me in a hug before we both sit down on the plush, red seats.

"Now. How about we get onto the questions?" She asks me. The crowd cheer in agreement and I nod my head. "So, how are you liking the Capitol?" Ruby asks.

"Oh it's beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen such vibrant colours! The people here are just amazing!" The crowd cheers as I mention them. "You guys are all so nice and happy, I don't think I want to leave! Oh, and the food! The food is amazing! I think I've tried to eat everything on all the tables but there's just so many delicious meals that I end up eating a whole plate and I can't eat anymore!" I let out a little laugh and so the the others. I remember stuffing my face with food the first time I came here. I had to stop because I thought I was going to be sick. Now, each time I go to a feast I try to slow myself down as much as possible.

"Yes, the food is beautiful! I don't know what we could do without it!" Ruby cheers.
"Now, into the next question. Why did you decide to volunteer?" I think of my mother, a smile spreads across my face at the thought of her. She would be so proud.

"My mother." I say simply. "She died a couple of years ago, and all she ever wanted was for one of her children to win. And that's what I'm here for. I want to make her proud. I want to be the first of her children to win the hunger games. I had done all my training and I know all the survival skills I need. I know I'm ready to win. I hope she is proud if me. Mum, if your listening, I'm going to be this years victor. I'm going to make you proud!" I hear one person start to clap and then the whole crowd, including Ruby are cheering and clapping. Ruby wipes a tear from her eye.

"That was beautiful! She would definitely be proud! Now, before I start crying my eyes out, let's carry on with the next question." Ruby wipes a few more tears from her eyes before she starts to speak again. I think I can even feel a tear of my own. But I wipe it away before anyone can I see it, I'm not weak.
"Who stands out the most to you this year? I know there are a few that I can think of." She questions.

"Tiberius from district one seems like a pretty big threat. But we are in an alliance so I'm not too worried about him. But once the numbers start to go down I think I'm going to have to watch out for him. He seems nice and all but you can never be too careful." I look over to the other tributes waiting but I don't see him. He must have already left.

"Is Tiberius the biggest threat this year? Or does someone else catch your attention?" Ruby asks.

"There are definitely a few but I think the biggest threat would have to be Nixie. She creeps me out. I saw her thrashing around in her room, breaking things and going absolutely nuts. I think there might b something wrong with her. I don't want to get on her bad side so I guess I'll just leave everyone else to her. She is definitely the biggest threat this year. She's mad." I've seen her when she's in a bad mood. And I wish I hadn't. I was walking past her room on the way to mine and I heard a bang. I looked through the window on the door and saw her smashing everything in her path. Then she turned around and saw me. I just ran away but I'm sure she knows who I am.

"Oh yes Nixie. She does seem like a strong contender this year! Now! Who do you think is the weakest tribute?" This one is easy.

"Mango." I say straight away. "I doubt he would even make it off his plate when the games start. He is really weak and his only weapon seems to be a pencil. Can't wait to see him in action." The crowd laugh at my remark and I even let out a little giggle too. "He may have an ally but I'm sure they won't make it far in these games. And he doesn't talk either. That's probably going to make it hard for hi if he's being stabbed to death by someone. I won't be surprised if he dies in the bloodbath." Mango definitely won't make it out of the bloodbath. And even if he does. I don't think he will last very long.

"Mango does seem a little strange." Ruby laughs. "Do you think you have a chance at winning?"

"Of course! I think I have a big chance at winning. I know heaps of survival skills unlike most of the careers and I can fight with nearly every weapon there is! And plus, I have a special weapon." Ruby looks at me in confusion. Of course they don't know what it is. I don't want anyone to think I have an advantage on them. I look up at the roof and whisper quietly so not even the cameras can pick it up. "I hope your still there mum. Because your my secret weapon."

And then, just like that I'm being applauded and whisked off the stage and unto my room for another big night ahead.
