"I want a child Amanda." Bayo's mother said in my hearing. "I want a grandchild. Give my son a child oh."

"Please it's not my fault." I cried.

Bayo's father sat at the other end of the room shaking his legs. Bayo sat at the dining table.

"You witch, release my son. Olosho. Oloni buruku." She insulted.

"Mama, please...."

"Eh...emi" she said beating her chest. "Who's your mama? Laye e." She said and frowned.

"Please stop calling me names." I begged. I had had enough.

"Why?" She asked. "When you can't prove that you're a woman?"

"That's enough Ma!" I shouted. "That's enough. You can't keep insulting me."

"Did you dare shout at my mother?" Bayo asked sitting up.

I kept mute staring at him. He came closer and a slap landed on my face.

"Bayo." I cried out. "You slapped me?"

"Yes and I'd do it again."

"Bayo." I called and ran up the stairs.

They all stared at me. I could feel their stares.

I cried heavily. I had cried for days. I was maltreated because I couldn't bear a child for Bayo.
