Ever since Evan got that new dog he's been spending less time with me. Not that the doggo doesn't deserve it, the dog is really cute but still! He took my Evan... what? Stop staring at me. Of course I said 'my Evan', shut up. The point is, he got a dog, he started ignoring me, and I'm jealous of a dog.

I've been trying to work on, well, work, but I can't focus! Usually Evan is spinning in a chair while I 'focus' on work but really he's distracting me but that's not important. I'd much rather stare at him then a boring piece of paper. So here I am, just sitting at my desk, tapping my pencil on the edge of the desk because I can't seem to write anything down. Then my phone rings.

I pick it up and immediately get yelled at by Evan, "Jared! Guess what?!"

"What happened, Evan?"

"Maple learned to fetch!" He gets so excited over every little thing that dog does.

"That's great!" I'm dying inside.

"I know! Hey, I could bring him over and show you! Are you busy?"

"No, not really Acorn."

"Acorn? Haven't heard that in a while." He laughs on the other side of the phone, he isn't wrong though. I have no idea why I said that.

"Yeah, I remembered about it just now."

"Okay, well, so it's okay for us to come over?"

You can come but not the dog, of course I couldn't say that to him. "Yeah, definitely. I need a break anyway."

"Great! I'll be over soon. See ya."

"See ya." *click* and the call ends. Now I have to babysit an idiot and a dog. At least the idiot is cute, okay so he's not an idiot, but he has his times. He does this thing where every once and while he has an 'off day' and his brain just like malfunctions. He can still properly function, but he needs help over the littlest things. It's like he forgets how to count or forgets common sense. I would tell you what it is, but he refuses to go to the doctors.

Anyway, may as well put all these papers away, at least I got a few of them done. If I didn't, there's no doubt I would fall behind. Plus Evan constantly distracting me doesn't help, even though I'm the one who always invites him over. I take a deep breath and just look around my room. It's a mess. Guess I'm cleaning. Yes I actually care about the shape of my room when Evan is over.

*nook nook door noise* well shit. Evan is already here. I guess my room is clean enough. I put a few more things in the trash and walk to the door. I open it to see Evan holding his dog, kissing its head because doggos deserve love too. In case you were wondering what breed it is, it's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. It's a pretty cute dog, it's still young and is technically a puppy. A puppy who always takes Evan away from me.

"Evan! Hey." I say to get his attention. He looks at me a bit surprised.

"Oh, hey, didn't know you were... watching." He scratches the back of his head.

"Come on in, I have snacks for us, and the dog of course." I may envy the dog but I'm not going to let it starve. Plus I always have water so it's not a big deal.

"Great, thanks." He walks in and puts the dog down when he gets inside. He takes off the leash and lets it roam around a bit. It's been here before multiple times so it knows it's surroundings pretty well. As I'm closing the door, I hear Evan walking around the room. I look back when the door is closed and he's heading to my room.

"Hey, Ev! The food is in the kitchen, you want me to bring it to my room?" I yell from the living room.

"Yeah!" He yells back. Okay then, into the kitchen I go. I grab whatever I think he liked and some fruit because fruit is awesome (I'm eating watermelon right now and I will always pick fruit over junk food). As I walk back and enter my room, Maple is already cuddled up with Evan. Lucky bastard. I want that ;-;. Shut up Jared and just put the food down. So I do. I place it on the edge of the bed because why not.
