So this is a re-write- sort of- from an old one shot I did called Pool Party. I really liked the idea from it and thought it could be written better so I tried it again. I think I did a pretty good job- but the title is different because I didn't really see the need to write the rest of it. I just though the confession was the best part. I can easily write the rest of it if anyone of you guys want to read it, just let me know.
Hope you enjoy this rewrite ^-^
(Also it's longer than before and I didn't even write the pool part at the end- so still enjoy)

Jared and I have been invited to Zoe's and Connor's pool party, it's officially the first day of summer and why not celebrate it? She called me yesterday, asking if we had any plans for tomorrow- well today now. Other than hanging out with Jared I was free, and Jared barely leaves the house because he hates people so it didn't interfere with anything important at least.

The problem is, Jared just won't finish changing! He's been in the bathroom for like 10 minutes and he's only changing his shorts to his swimming trunks. I said he could change in my room while I was changing so then we know when we're both ready. Totally not for any other reason, just to be ready- yep... something is going to happen and I don't know what.

"Jared, what is taking you so long?!" I basically groan as I fall back on my bed, I'm usually patient but when you're just sitting somewhere without anything to pass the time... I'm basically a child. If you don't give them something to do then they'll just nag and nag until they're no longer bored- and entertaining a child can be very difficult sometimes.

"Hold on, I'm almost done!" He yells back from inside the bathroom, the door muffling his voice a bit. Changing shorts shouldn't take this long, probably a minute at most. On the other hand, he could be changing his shirt. He used to feel confident enough to not wear a shirt- he looked hot by the way- but one remark from one of his peers was enough to drag his self esteem down. Plus he refuses to tell me who, they took away my chance to see Jared shirtless so I am more than pissed off.

Something just doesn't seem right. We change a lot around each other considering we've been friends for years and I don't remember him once taking this long. I sit back up and walk to the bathroom door, leaning on the wall where the door is. I knock and ask, "You've been in there for quite a while, is everything okay?" I can't help but worry, I know him too well to let this slide without acknowledgment.

"Everything is fine, why don't you start the car. I'll be out soon." He responds but just now I start to hear shuffling like he's finally changing. What was he doing before then? I hesitate to leave for a moment, trying to hear anything else that could give me a clue on what he's been doing. I hear nothing. I accept defeat and walk outside.

As I'm starting the car, Jared finally comes out. Now he decides to not take his sweet time, typical. On a more serious note, I am actually concerned. What could someone do in a bathroom that takes them that long when they were only supposed to change? No water was running, the toilet didn't flush, it sounded like he was just standing there-... "shit..."

"Hello? Earth to Evan, what did you just say?" Jared was already in the car and I didn't even notice. He was waving his hand in my face to get my attention, I didn't notice that either. I meant to whisper that last part to myself but with Jared's "perfect" timing, he heard it.

"You're finally ready?" I snicker, trying to forget whatever was going on in my head and to change the topic. I place my hands on the wheel, I don't even know why. I still have to put the car in reverse to pull out of the driveway.

"Shut up and start driving. Aren't we late?" He grumbles, it's cute when he's mad- of course I could never tell him that. Having a crush on your best friend is always the weirdest thing to experience, and the most troublesome. If you say anything your friendship might end, if you don't then they might find someone else. Both are painful.
