Ugh. My head. I try to open my eyes but there's a light that's blinding me. I squint to see my surroundings but nothing is too clear. I hear noises but they sound like they're in the background of a phone call. Which is actually right. I open my eyes to see my mom almost yelling into a phone.

She's almost screaming. Clearly upset. Alarmed. Afraid. Tense. She keeps going through emotions while she's on the phone. Tired. Annoyed. Enthused. At ease. And finally she's relieved. She hangs up and I hear her footsteps head in my direction.

She gently puts her hand on my face and brushes her thumb on my cheek. As I get used to the light, she whispers, "Hey buddy, how are you feeling?"

"I'm o-okay, I g-guess. What happened?" I probably spoke softer than she did.

"You passed out and you appeared on my doorstep, one of your friends dropped you off. He's still here if you want to talk to him."

What? I don't have any friends..? She let a stranger in the house?! "I don't, I don't know anybody who would drop me off."

Her face looks puzzled. "Are you sure? Come see." She slowly gets up and goes into the kitchen. After a few words they come back. She's with a guy around my age, he's wearing glasses. A buttoned up shirt. Short brown hair with brown eyes. If I wasn't out of it, I would say he looks good.

"Who, who a-are you?" I slowly sit up from the couch I was just laying on for who knows how long. I instantly feel another shock of pain in my head and groan. I lift my hands up to hold my head up.

"Easy Ev, don't hurt yourself." The mysterious boy walks over to me and crouches down. He looks me in the eyes with a sincere look on his face.

"How did you-", then it hits me, "Jared?!" Startled, I jumped back a bit in my seat. How did he know where I live?

"Ah, so you do know me." He gives me a shy smile but also has a slight smirk on the side. Just like before when he first told me his name.

"Wha.." is all I could say.

"How did- No you. What the hell!" I stand up and completely ignore the pain in my head. I stare at him as I can't help but look like a deer in headlights.

"Woah, woah, woah, calm down. It's okay." He says while he stands up and puts his hands up in a way to slow me down.

"Don't 'calm down' me! How did you know where I live?! Were you following me?! What are you, a stalker?!" I raise my hands as I shout, I don't mean to but come on! How would you react in this situation?

"I know how it looks, but hear me out-"

"No! I just passed out so I'm sorry if I'm not in the mood to hear you talk your way out of this!"

"I'm sorry," he looks towards my mom and nods his head and she goes into the kitchen, "but you passed out in the middle of the street I couldn't let you just get run over."

"I was in the street?" I lower my voice a bit, honestly I have no idea how I ended up in the street.

"Yeah, don't you remember?" He asks me as he puts his hands down. Again, he sounds so genuine and sincere.

"N-no." I think I'm going to pass out again.

He puts one of his hands back up, "Some of the officers tried to ask you a few questions but you were frozen. Then you just walked out of the store disregarding everything that is happening around you."

"I-I-I, I need to lay down." I put my hand back and grip onto the couch as I sit back down.

"Yeah, you probably should. Do… we can cancel the date if you're… not…" he says as he takes his hand back and looks at the ground. Well now he's sad, I can't cancel on him. Hm.

"N-no, no, we can still do it." I give him a shy smile. I'm guessing that's all it took to get him all jumpy again.

"Really?" He says while he's practically bouncing on his feet.

"Yeah, but I don't think I should be walking around a lot." I don't want to upset him but I also don't want to pass out again.

"Great!", he says while he raises his hands again but in an excited way, "that's not a problem! We could do it here? Watch a little Netflix, chill out on the couch. Or! I could make us some dinner, make it romaaantic~." He drags out the a sound and raises his eyebrows with a smirk on his face, but with a gentle smile (hope that makes sense).

I snicker, Jared, being romantic? Ha, not a chance. "Oh really, you can be romantic?"

"*gasp* Did I just sense sarcasm, Evan?" He puts his hand on his chest.

"Nooo, definitely not. I would never." Sarcasm is fun.

"Alright, fine, I'll prove it to you. You sit down, watch some tv, while I set us up some nice dinner. Where are your candles?" He says while he walks into the kitchen.

"No way I'm letting you anywhere near any candles. You're a kille- A KINd of stupid person." That was close. My mom is still in the kitchen.

I hear Jared let out a relieved sigh. That could've went badly.

Heyyyy it's me again
I'm sorrrryyyyy. I know I said it would just be a date but then I had ideas every few minutes and I really wanted to add them in to make the story a bit more real
I promise the next chapter is the actual date, no more panic attacks or fighting, just a cute dinner between Jared and Evan
I hope you like it :3
