The next day I woke up feeling ecstatic! After our training yesterday, it felt really good. I couldn't even sleep that night because I was so eager to train more. I became more aggressive and motivated everyday to learn new things.
"Did you see how I curve the bullet Rio?!" I exclaimed.
Sabay-sabay kaming tatlong kumakain ng tanghalian at hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko. I was so happy for what I have accomplished yesterday and I can't help but to boast.
The thing is that not only I want to improve myself but also I wanted to please Uncle. I wanted to see his reaction everytime I did something that he taught me. I didn't want to disappoint him and I wanted to prove myself to him.
I wanted to show how I'm capable and how much I've grown for the past years. That I'm no longer the Dominique that he met five years ago. I didn't really like myself back then. Reflecting on my actions, I was a pathetic teenage girl who's weak.
My Uncle taught me the hard way. He showed me that sometimes, the world is not on my favor. Luck is not always on my side and if I want something, I must work hard and earn it. And because of that, my life changed. Not just my life but my perspective of it.
Life is cruel...
Life is a game and if you lose, you're the weak one.
"Yeah, well it took you a while though. I mean if it wasn't for me then you wouldn't have curved the bullet," he shrugged and took a sip on his glass.
I rolled my eyes at agad na sumubo ng kanin. "Sino ba may sabi sayong humarang ka? Bida bida ka din eh. I should have shot you in the head instead," I muttered and continued eating
His brow shot up and scoffed. "Oh really? You should just thank me instead. I was just tired of looking at you failing to curve the bullet every shot," he fired back
My jaw dropped and my fist turned into a ball. "Well I didn't fucking need your help in the first place you---" tumayo ako at akmang sasakalin siya pero nagulat kami nung malakas na hinampas ni Uncle ang palad niya sa lamesa.
"Enough! Have some respect you two. Huwag kayong bastos sa harap ng pagkain," mahinahon pero matigas na sambit ni Uncle.
Masama akong nakatingin sa kaniya at pabalik kay Rió at nakita ko lang siyang umiwas ng tingin at tumikhim. Unti-unti akong umupo habang hindi inaalis ang tingin kay Rió. Uminom ako ng tubig upang kumalma.
Marahas kong kinuha ang kubyertos at nagsimula ulit kumain. Sumulyap ako kay Uncle at nakita kong kalmado na ulit ang itsura niya. Napatingin naman ako kay Rió at nakita kong kanina pa niya pinipigilan ang tawa niya.
I glared at him at tipid lang siyang ngumiti. Sinipa ko sa ilalim ng lamesa ang paa niya at agad siyang sumulyap sa'kin. Nakakunot ang noo niya pero hindi padin maalis ang ngisi sa labi niya. Sumulyap siya kay Uncle at agad na tumahimik.
"I'll kill you," I mouthed and he only shrugged.
Nahagip ng paningin ko si Uncle at nakita kong masama ang tingin niya sa'kin kaya mapait na ngumiti ako sa kaniya at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain.
"Uhh, Uncle. What's our training for today?" I asked curiously.
Uminom muna akong tubig at hinintay ang sasabihin niya.
"We're not training today. I have some errands to do," sambit niya at hindi sumulyap sa'kin. Patuloy lang siya sa pag kain.
Bigla akong nawalan ng gana sa pagkain at nadismaya ako sa sinabi ni Uncle. I was already looking forward our training today and I even wake up early just to prepare myself.
