"I'm not in the mood Reign," I said lazily.
Kanina pa 'ko kinukulit ni Reign na pumunta sa food stall ng lower year. Foundation Day kasi namin ngayon sa school kaya maraming events ang hinanda ng Student Council. For the freshman year, they were assigned to create a booth and sell food. Kami namang sophomore ay photobooth. Sa third year students naman ay marriage booth at jail booth and lastly for the graduating students, gumawa sila ng contest.
Kami namang dalawa ni Reign ang nakassign sa photobooth. Kanina niya pa ako niyaya na tumingin sa ibang booths dahil bored na daw siya.
"Sige na Dominique, andyan naman si Sophia para bantayan 'tong booth natin," she insisted but I just rolled my eyes. "Tignan mo iyong iba nating kakalse oh, dami ng napuntahan."
Tumingin ako sa paligid at nakita ang iba kong kaklase na may hawak-hawak na iba't ibang pagkain. Meron din silang hawak na paper bags na tingin ko ay prize nila sa contest. Nakita ko naman ang dalawang couple na mukhang kilig na kilig dahil kinasal sila sa marriage booth.
Katabing booth namin ay ilang food stall at tanaw naman sa malayo ang ibang booths. Nandito kami sa malawak na field ng school at sa gitna ay may malaking stage kung saan magpeperform ang ilang students.
There were also some artworks made by the students and were displayed on the stage. May malaki ding tarpolin sa gitna kung saan nakalagay ang "30th Foundation Day" ng school.
Binalik ko ang tingin kay Reign at nakita ko ang busangot na mukha niya. "Fine Reign, I'll come with you pero saglit lang tayo." I said finally giving in.
She turned to face me with a smile plastered on her face. "Talaga?! Hay salamat pumayag ka nadin. Alam mo bang kanina pa ako gutom at naiinggit sa iba nating kaklase kasi sila halos nalibot na ang booths?" she said frustratedly.
"Eh bakit hindi ka nalang bumili mag-isa? Pwede ka namang mag-libot. Ayos lang ako dito."
She arched her brow and crossed her arms. "You've been grumpy all day. Diba dati naman ito yung event na pinaka hinihintay natin sa school but now, you don't feel as excited like before." she said with a hint of longing in her voice.
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko sa kaniya. Hindi ko pa sinasabi kay Reign ang nangyari, na si Rider ang suspect sa pagkamatay ng pamilya ko. I was afraid to tell her and for sure she might go crazy if she found out. I didn't want her to get involved.
"I know it's just that," I sighed. "I have a lot of things on my mind and-"
"I know that's why you need some fun! I understand how stressed you are right now but I just want to be a good friend to you." paliwanag niya
"Yeah, I'm sorry. It's fine, you don't have to worry." I assured her
"Good! Let's go then," she said and we both stood up from our seats.
I heard her call Sophia who is busy talking to a 4th year student. "Hoy Sophia! Ikaw naman magbantay dito oh! Masyado ka nang nag-eenjoy diyan ah! Tama na muna landi!"
Sophia and the guy both turned to us and I saw how her cheeks turned red. Nahihiya siyang nag-paalam sa lalaki at mabilis na naglakad sa booth namin.
"Ito naman si Reign. Hindi mo ba nakikita na nag bibigayan na kami ng number?! Sinayang mo yung opportunity!" she hissed and stomped her feet.
Reign crossed her arms and pointed her finger at Sophia. "Hoy babae ka kahit kailan talaga ang landi landi mo. Mahiya ka naman ah. Tsk sige na dito ka na at bantayan ang booth."
Sophia just rolled her eyes and sat on the stool. Meanwhile, Reign put her arm on mine.
"Tara na dali!" she cheered and we both walked towards the food stalls.
