"Is he really the killer Inspectora?" I asked curiously.
A long silence envelop us and my eyes are directly pointed to her. When we got to the police station, Inspectora wanted to talk to me about Chris and him being the killer. At first I was skeptical because how could he even do such a thing? It's my fault that I went hysterical without knowing the truth. Wala pa ngang ebidenisya so paano niya nasabi na si Chris ang killer?
"There's a huge chance that he is. You might be confused but I wanted to talk to you first before interrogating him."
Andito kami sa isang kwarto kung saan ang office ni Inspectora. Katabi lang nito ang interrogation room kung saan doon nananatili si Chris.
"Get straight to the point Inspectora," I firmly said without breaking eye contact.
I badly want to know Chris' side and if he's telling the truth. I want this so bad to end already. I'm exhausted and I just want to get this over with.
She coughed before answering me. "Two days ago I went to Reign's house to interview her. I talked to her and got her statement. Noong una ay nagtataka pa ako sa mga sinasabi niya but it all went down to one person, Chris Rider," sabi niya at pinakita sa'kin ang litrato ni Chris.
"I think Reign was the key in solving this case."
I was confused by what she said. "What do you mean?"
"She pointed to Chris, which is our primary suspect and everything makes sense now. All the puzzle pieces are starting to come in shape," she said and I got more confused.
"Inspectora, can you elaborate more details. I don't understand," I said and massaged my head.
Ilang segundo siyang nakatingin sa'kin bago may kinuha na papel sa lamesa niya. "This is the results of the forensic. Before I met you, I already studied your case since alam ko na kailangan mo ng tulong. I went to the crime scene and examined more. Pumunta ako sa bahay niyo kasama ang forensic team. It was hard to find evidence because your house was a total mess. Para bang sinadya iyon para hindi kami makahanap ng ebidenisya but that doesn't mean wala na kaming nakuha," she boastly said
"There were shattered pieces of glass on the floor at may naiwang dugo doon. At first I thought maybe it was your parent's blood or the murder weapon but surprisingly, it was Chris'," she said confidently
I felt shivers running down my spine. Napaawang ang labi ko sa sinabi ni Inspectora. Questions were starting to pop inside my head. Naguguluhan padin ako sa pangyayari at hindi padin kumbinsado. There's still some puzzle pieces missing and I can't pinpoint what it is.
"With that, we had a search warrant for him. Hindi na kami nahirapan dahil nandoon na mismo ang ebidensiya," sambit ni Inspectora at may pinakita sa'kin ang dala-dala niya.
I gasped when I saw what she placed on the table. It was a black jacket together with the murder weapon which is a gun. Bakas din ang dugo at hindi na ako nagdalawang isip pa na kay Chris iyon.
"Pero paano? Bakit parang ang bilis? Bakit ang dali biglang nakuha ang ebidensiya at ang killer?" naguguluhang tanong ko
"Minsan ay hindi mo na kailangan maghanap dahil nasa harap mo na ang killer mismo," seryoso niyang sabi.
It all makes sense now. Parang lahat na ng tanong sa isip ko ay unti-unti ng nasasagot lahat. Yung mga pag-iwas sa'kin ni Chris. Yung hindi niya pag pansin sa'kin simula nung namatay ang pamilya ko.
But something still isn't right. My subconscious is telling me otherwise and I don't know what it is.
"But we still need to hear his statement right?" tanong ko at tipid na tumango si Inspectora.
