"Are you insane Dominique?!" bulyaw niya

"This is the only way Rió. Do you have a better plan?" ani ko

Hindi siya umimik at kumunto lang ang noo niya.

Kanina pa kami ni Rio na nagtatalo sa plano na gagawin ko mamayang gabi. After I told him my plan, he already disagreed without second thoughts. Ngayon ay hindi ko alam kung paano ko siya kukumbinsihin.

My plan was to go to Damien's place with the address that Miguel sent to me. I wasn't planning on doing something that can harm me or what. I just want to investigate and get more information about him especially the proof that he's the one who killed my family.

I clicked my tongue and walked back and forths from my room. I didn't want Uncle to hear about my plan so I just pulled him inside here in my room.

"Listen, Rio." I sighe and faced him. "I'm expecting you to help me on this one but if you're not then so be it. I'm just gonna go alone."

Agad naman siyang umiling at lumapit sa'kin. "No, Dominique. What if papa finds out that you're gone? What am I gonna tell him huh? He knows nothing and sooner or later he'll find out your plan."

Bumuntong hininga siya at hinawakan ako sa dalawang balikat. "I can't lie to him Dominique, you know that and neither do you."

Yumuko ako at pinilit intindihin ang mga sinabi niya. I know I can't keep this secret longer. Uncle knows that I already saw him and God knows what my plans are upon our encounter. The longer it gets, the more harder it is to hide to from him.

Tinanggal ko ang hawak niya sa balikat ko at tumingin sa kaniya. "Can you please just let me decide on my own? I will tell him my plan, I just have a lot of things going on in my mind right now."

Lalagpasan ko sana siya pero hinatak niya ako pabalik. I couldn't look at him and remained calm. "Look I'm just protecting you and who knows what Damien would do. It's not safe for you-"

Hindi ko na pinatapos ang sasabihin niya at marahas na tinanggal ang pagkakahawak niya sa'kin. "Fuck it Rió! I'm not a kid anymore! Isn't this why you trained me?! What's the purpose then?! Bakit niyo ba ako laging pinipigilan?!" hingal na hingal kong sambit.

Hindi siya umimik at mariin lang ang titig niya sa'kin at ganoon din ako. "Do you think I'm weak? Do you think I'll mess things up because of my fucking illness?! Wala ka bang tiwala sa'kin?" sunod sunod kong tanong.

I saw how his adam's move and slowly clenched his jaw. His lips were in grim line with his brows furrowed.

Mariin padin ang titig ko sa kaniya samantalang umiwas lang siya ng tingin. "You said you'll protect me but I don't think you are."

Nilagpasan ko siya at dumiretso sa pintuan. "I'm not changing my mind. I'm still going," sambit ko at tuluyan ng lumabas ng kwarto at iniwan siya.

Pagkalabas ko ay nadatnan ko si Uncle sa living room habang umiinom ng kape. Nagtagpo agad ang mga mata namin at ako agad ang unang umiwas ng tingin.

I cleared my throat and walked passed the living room. Nakita ko na sinundan niya ako ng tingin pero hindi ko siya pinansin. Kinuha ko ang jacket na nakasabit sa likod ng pintuan at pinihit ang door knob pero bago iyon ay nagsalita si Uncle.

"Where are you going?" I didn't look at him and swallowed hard.

"Just need some fresh air," sagot ko at tuluyan ng lumabas at hindi na hinintay ang sasabihin niya.

These past few days had been hard for me. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko padin sa kaniya sinasabi ang plano ko. I was too preoccupied with getting more information with Damien that I always had no time to tell him.
