Chapter 47: Tulog na

Liam's POV

I stared at this beautiful woman sleeping soundly in my bed.

'My precious Bella,' I thought as I touched her cheeks.

Being on a long-term relationship with this woman is a pure bliss. She's the best thing that ever happened to me. Alam ko pagod na siya sa buhay. It hurts to see her struggle to work on a job she's not passionate about and pretend like she's happy.

I met her when she was at her low point in life, but when she entered our organization, I saw passion slowly igniting in her eyes. I watched her grow into a self-assured woman as she developed her talent. I also watched her enthusiasm slowly died out after we graduated. The woman who once confidently presented her ideas infront of dozens of people become timid. It was like she stopped believing in herself after listening to fashion companies rejecting her over and over again.

As her man, it was a painful to watch, but I had to be strong for her. I did my best in Medicine School to make her happy and proud, but I know it's not enough. I sighed as I lay beside her. I felt her move and shifted her position to face the opposite direction from me.

I slowly pulled her close to me and cuddled her on a spooning position. After a few minutes, I heard faint sobs.

"Ssshhhhh, tahan na mahal ko." Bulong ko sa kanya, pero umiiyak pa rin siya.

I know she's suffering from depression. I don't need to be a psychiatrist to notice it. Kumanta ako para mapakalma siya.

"Tulog na, mahal ko

Hayaan na muna natin ang mundong ito,

Lika na, tulog na tayo.

Tulog na, mahal ko

Huwag kang lumuha, malambot ang iyong kama

Saka na mamroblema"

She loves it when I sing this song to her. It makes her feel safe. Naramdaman ko ang unti-unting pagtahan ni Bella.

"Tulog na mahal ko,

Nandito lang akong bahala sa iyo

Sige na, tulog na muna

Tulog na mahal ko

At baka bukas ngingiti ka sa wakas,

At sabay natin harapin ang mundo"

"Tahan na mahal ko, andito lang naman ako eh." Sabi ko sa kanya.

Nang masigurado kong napakalma ko na siya, ay saka lang ako tumayo para magshower. Pagkalabas ko ng shower ay tulog pa din si Bella. As I put on my boxers, a notification suddenly beeped from my phone.

"YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THIS YEAR'S ALUMNI HOMECOMING!" basa ko sa title.

"Ano yan babe?" I heard Bella whispered in my ear as she hugged me from behind.

Nagising siguro siya sa ringtone ko. I saw her peeked through my phone. Her expression is unreadable.

"We don't need to go if you don't want to." Sabi ko.

She heaved a deep sigh. "Hindi babe, okay lang, punta tayo."

She smiled at me reassuringly, but I'm still a bit hesistant to actually go. I know this might trigger her anxiety again, pag nakita niya ang mga batchmates namin moving on with their lives. I'm not really fond of reunions, people tend to brag on how far ahead they are with their lives, it's not good for Bella's mental health.
