CHAPTER 27

AC's POV

This is the most awkward moment in my life right now. We are alone in the elevator. Two of us! And pinagpapawisan ako ng malagkit dahil sa awkwardness. We're not even glancing at each other, no one is talking and we're just silent.

Hanggang sa basagin niya ang katahimikan.

"So nagkasagutan kayo ni Nica?" pagbabasag niya sa katahimikan.

"Yeah. I guess you like girls with trashy personality." I need to be sarcastic all the time with him or else..... Nevermind.

Hindi siya nagsalita at huminga lang ng malalim.

"Well if you're for the garbage then maybe you're also a garbage." pagpapatuloy ko. It made him flinch.

"So you're racing again?" pag iiba niya ng usapan. Why does he care?

"Yeah. I'll be racing with Ryle the next weekend." I really have to mention Ryle's name in front of him. Dahil sa attitude niya kanina kay Ryle baka mainis siya. And that's my goal.

"What about we race?" woahhhhhh I'm not expecting that.

"Why?" nagtataka lang ako kung bakit all of a sudden gusto niya akong karace.

"For a bet." it doesn't make sense. Napakanonsense niyang kausap.

"What's your bet?" tanong ko naman.

Kung ano man ang plano niya alam kong hindi yon maganda at ikakabuti ng paghihiganti ko sa kanya.

"Lay your bet first." what should I bet with him? Well I'm getting a new car after the race with Ryle. So hindi pa pwede yon. I know!

"Sign the agreement." seryoso kong sabi.

"Not bad. My bet is if I win you'll be staying with me on the house for 1 week. Just like before." that's a very bad idea. Considering na hindi ko. Pa siya nakarace dati is more worst.

But I need to do this. I need to win against him. Para pirmahan niya yung agreement. Na kahit ayaw ko ay dapat niyang gawin para na din makapagpakasal na sila ni Nica bago lumabas yung bata.

"Bad idea to be in one house with you and Nica." sagot ko naman.

"Nica will not be there. It's just you and me in a house." not bad.

"Deal. When are we racing?" tanong ko.

"The day after tomorrow." that's fast. But I just need to win this. And matatapos na ang lahat. Easy as that!

So tell me bakit ang tagal ang elevator? Yeah right we came from the very top of the building.

Bigla nalang akong nagulat at nanigas sa kinatatayuan ko ng maramdaman ang mga labi niya sa akin. I get into my senses at itinulak siya.

"What the hell are you doing?" inis kong tanong. He's expressionless.

"When Matt kissed you. You responded. But when it comes to me you're acting like we haven't had sex." natahimik nalang ako sa sinabi niya at nanatili sa kinatatayuan ko. I don't know what to answer to him.

Nandidiri na ba ako sa kanya? Or I'm just angry at him? Kaya hindi ko masabayan ang mga paghalik niya sakin.

And the fact that we had sex last night is making it more difficult to know what I am really feeling about him.

"So you're wearing the engagement ring as a necklace?"

"You can have it back. At ibigay mo kay Nica." sabi ko at akmang tatanggalin na ito.

"It's looks good on your neck but I want it on your finger. When I win the race I want you to wear it like how you used to." that's too much to ask.

"Too much." maiksing sagot ko.

"That's my bet. And do you think na ang pagpirma ko sa agreement ay maliit na bagay? You have no idea how it hurts me to hear from you that I should sign it."

"Wala ng mas sasakit pa sa ginawa niyo sakin." sabi ko at lumabas na agaf ng elevator pagbukas palang ng pinto.

Naglakad na ako papunta sa kotse ko and saw a very familiar car on the right side of my car.

The car that I gave to him on his birthday. He's still using it.

Nakita ko naman siya na palapit sa kinaroroonan ng sasakyan niya. He's staring at me.

"I'll give you the bracelet for you to know if Nica is in danger. Ibigay mo sa kanya." sabi ko at binuksan ang pintuan ng sasakyan.

"You don't have to. I don't care about her anyways." sabi niya at pumasok na sa loob ng sasakyan niya at pinaandar ito ng mabilis.

Pumasok na din ako sa loob ng sasakyan ko and drive to my unit. But I changed my mind. I'm not gonna be staying there for tonight. Because I just saw Ren's car going on the same direction that I was going to take.

And hindi ko hahayaan na malaman niyang nasa iisang building lang kami nakatira.

Habang nasa sasakayan ako ay biglang may tumawag kaya iginilid ko muna ang sasakyan at sinagot ito.

"Hello."

[Hindi na kita nahintay kanina. Bigla kasing tumawag si Dad.]

"It's ok. I can handle myself."

[I'll see you tomorrow at the dinner?]

"Yeah sure."

Does he really need to update me everytime? It's quite annoying.

Umuwi lang ako sa bahay at nadatnan ko naman si Mama na kasama si Jillian.

"Hi Jillian!" bati ko sa kanya pagkapasok ko at kaagad naman siyang tumakbo papunta sakin.

"Oh dito ka ba matutulog ngayong gabi?" tanong ni Mama at lumapit sa amin.

"Yeah. Are you also staying?" tanong ko kay Jillian at binuhat siya.

Tumango lang siya at nakita ko naman si Ate Jasmine na pababa ng hagdan.

"Hi Ate Jas." bati ko sa kanya at naupo sa sofa habang buhat buhat si Jillian.

"Hi. You really look good today. Blooming ka. Anong meron?" tanong naman ni Ate Jas.

Ano nga bang meron? Uhhhh dahil sa paghalik sakin ni Ren? Definetley NOT!!! Hindi kaya.

"Wala naman." taning nasagot ko nalang. Wala naman kasi talaga.

"Ahhh wala ba?" tanong niya kaya agad ko siyang tinignan at agad naman siyang ngumuso at itinuro ang pintuan. Then I saw Matt entering the house.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"I bought Ice Cream." sabi niya at itinaas ang dala niya.

"Akala ko ba nasa office ka?"

"Well, I just need to sign some documents. Kaya nagpunta na ako dito pagkatapos." sabi niya at inilapag sa counter ang dala niya.

"Hi Jillian." bati niya at lumapit sa amin at kinuha si Jillian mula sa akin at kinarga. "Do you want ice cream? Tito bought some for you." Matt could be a really great dad.

"Ahh maiwan ko muna kayo dito. Mag aayos pa ako sa kwarto namin. Bantayan niyo muna si Jillian ah." pagpapaalam ni Ate Jas. At umakyat na papunta sa kwarto nila ni Kuya.

She's really lucky to have a guy like Kuya. He never cheated on her. They are always happy and maybe argue sometimes about small things but Kuya always make sure that Ate Jas doesn't sleep na may sama ng loob sa kanya. Their relationship is ver strong and healty..... I wish we were like them.

Malabo ng mangyari ang lahat. All promises are broken. All the memories of us together will just stay memories that may or may not be forgotten.
