Grey:

It's almost nine thirty and the party is almost in full swing already. Tons of people showed up exactly at night which kind of surprised me but I was happy and Sam was ecstatic. Before everyone got there we did two birthday shots to celebrate and now I was taking a break from drinking as I was starting to feel a buzz. Sam on the other hand was not taking a break but it was okay because it's her night.

Since she started drinking Sam has come over to me more than once to apologize for what happened at dinner. I know she feels terrible about it and it doesn't seem to matter how many times I tell her it's okay. I don't want her to feel bad. I know it was a mistake. Nate, Sam, and I have kind of made this unspoken agreement not to talk about Jason. It may have been silly or unhealthy but after the accident it was nearly impossible for me to hear people reminisce about him. It hurt too much to think about how I would never have any new memories of him. It still hurt but I was getting better. Hunter was helping with that. Hunter. Oh it killed me to see his face at dinner, that burning curiosity. It was difficult thinking about having to tell him a second time what happened. It was hard enough the first time.

Hunter seemed to be having a good time. He was talking and laughing with Daniel and a few other people who he worked with. I noticed how when I stepped away from him that some of the girls from Sam's school took that as an opportunity to throw themselves at him. I smile though when I see how Hunter brushes them off explicitly showing his disinterest. He looks around the bar and his eyes immediately land on me and he smiles as he makes his way towards me. I laugh when I see the disgusted looks on the girl's faces as they look at me.

"Hey" he says when he reaches me. "Sorry about that."

"No need to be sorry" I tell him. "It's not your fault you're hot remember? Besides they probably see you as easy prey since you're wounded."

"Oh" he says as he laughs. "So that's how it's gonna be?"

"Yep" I giggle.

"Does that mean you see me as easy prey?" he asks.

"Oh yeah" I say flirtatiously.

"Does that mean you plan on taking advantage of me later?" he asks mimicking my flirtatious tone.

"If you play your cards right" I say boldly as I wink at him. Hunter looks at me shocked clearly surprised that I have managed to keep up with this game. I know he likes to push my limits sometimes on the sexual flirting. It's okay though I like when he does this. It makes me feel like he doesn't think of me as the fragile girl so many other people see me as.

He looks like he is about to reply but then I see Mark walk in with his girlfriend, Kelly. He sees us and waves as he walks over to us with a smile on his face. Hunter turns to look at who I'm smiling at and when his eyes land on Mark they grow dark for a moment. I know that look, he's jealous.

"Hey Grey!" Mark says happily as he pulls me into a hug.

"Hey" I say back as I pull away from him. "Hey Kelly" I say as I hug her. "It's good to see you."

"Good to see you too" she says. Mark's girlfriend is extremely beautiful. She's a few inches taller than me and has gorgeous long black hair, tanned skin, and emerald green eyes. She is very exotic looking and to top it all off she is very sweet. Mark is a lucky guy and by judging the way he looks at her he knows it.

"Nice to see you up and about Hunter" Mark says to Hunter as he sticks his hand out to him.

"I didn't catch your name" Hunter says as he shakes Mark's hand. He still seems suspicious and I wonder if he missed how Mark is here with the Kelly, who happens to be drop dead gorgeous.
