Grey:
I'm waiting for my sister to arrive and I'm both nervous and excited. I'm excited to see my sister because I haven't seen her in months and I miss her like crazy, but I'm also nervous about her meeting Hunter. I mean I know that she'll love him because I can't see why she wouldn't and because I know that all that really matters to her is if I'm happy, but I still have this irrational fear that maybe they won't get along. I don't know what I would do if that happened.
I know Hunter's nervous too even though he has been trying to hide it from me. Every time Sam or I mentioned my sister the past couple days he has gone white as a ghost and he gets all quiet. It's kind of cute actually. He offered to be here with me when she arrives but I decided to give him a break and told him to go home and relax for a bit. Besides, my sister and I had a lot to catch up on.
I glance at the clock to see what time it is and I feel butterflies in my stomach when I see that she should be here any minute. She's always late so I've already added a half hour onto her trip so if I'm right she should be walking in my door within the next five minutes.
"Is she here yet?" Sam asks excitedly as she walks into the living room.
"Not yet" I say. "But soon."
"I miss your sister. I'm so glad she's coming to visit" she says as she sits next to me on the couch.
"Me too" I say quietly as I smile.
Just then we hear a knock at the door and I jump up to answer it. I practically sprint towards the door and as soon as I open it I throw myself into my sister's arms. She's not much of a hugger but I can't help myself. I really missed her.
"Well hello to you too" she laughs as she struggles to hug me back while holding her bags.
"Sorry" I say sheepishly as I pull away from her. I reach for her bag, "Here let me take that."
"Thanks" she says as she hands it to me. "You look good little sis" she adds as she follows me inside.
I smile. "You do too Ash." I'm about to ask her about her trip when Sam jumps up from the couch and comes barreling towards us.
"Ash!" she squeals excitedly. My sister and Sam are so much alike that most people think they are the ones who are sisters. It's pretty funny actually. "Sorry, I tried to be good and give you guys a few minutes of privacy but I just missed you so damn much."
My sister laughs as Sam hugs her. "It's okay Sam, I missed you too."
"So how was the drive?" I ask as I take my sister's bag to my room.
"It was good. Pretty boring but I managed to keep myself entertained with my terrible singing."
I shake my head and laugh, "Well that's good. How's school?"
"School's great. Graduation's only a few weeks away."
"I know, mom told me you got into John Hopkins for medical school. That's amazing."
She smiles brightly at me. "Thanks Grey. Maybe you'll join me there in a couple years."
"Maybe" I say as I smile back at her. It feels good to be with my sister again and just catch up on things. I really needed to keep in contact with her more.
"Alright" she says abruptly and our little sisterly moment is over. "No more stalling. Where is this boyfriend of yours?"
"He's not here. You'll get to meet him later. I promise."
She rolls her eyes at me. "Sure I will. You'll probably hide him from me all weekend."
"I will not!" I cry defensively. "I wanted to give us some time alone first, I swear."
