Grey:

It's Friday and a part of me is very sad that my spring break is almost over. I really liked getting to spend all of this time with Hunter. Alone. Since he has been staying here every night with me he has run out of clothes to wear and he had to go back to his apartment to grab some stuff. I wanted to go with him but he told me to stay here and that he wouldn't be long. I could tell a part of him didn't want to leave me here either but I wasn't dressed and my hair was damp from showering. It would have been silly for him to wait for me.

He's been gone about ten minutes when I hear the door knob turn and my heart leaps with excitement thinking its Hunter, but then I realize how impossible that is and I become nervous. Who the hell could it be? I stand partially hidden waiting to attack when the person enters. I can do this I remind myself. This is what all those self-defense classes were for. When the door opens and I see Sam come waltzing inside I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Hey!" she says excitedly but stops when she sees my posture. I look down at my arms and realize I was holding them up ready to strike. "Um what are you doing?" she asks.

I put my arms down and feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment. "I thought you were a burglar or something" I mumble.

She laughs but covers her mouth to stop herself. "I'm sorry Grey. I didn't mean to scare you. I figured I'd surprise you with an early return."

"Its okay" I tell her as I walk towards her and hug her. "How was home?"

"It was good" she says as she shrugs. "Everyone asked about you. They said they all miss you."

I wasn't sure who "everyone" was but I had a pretty good idea.

"How were things here?" she asks and I can tell she's really asking about Hunter and me. She's probably worried that he's not here right now.

"Amazing" I tell her unable to keep the smile off my face. Sam's face lights up too.

"Good" she says. "I'm so glad. Where is Hunter by the way?"

"He left to go grab some more clothes from his place. He ran out" I explain. "How's Nate?" I ask choosing to change the subject and ask about our mutual best friend.

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" Sam asks and as if right on cue Nate comes walking through the door.

"Nate!" I squeal as I run to the door and throw myself in his arms.

He laughs into my hair and hugs me back. "Nice to see you too, Grey. I missed you."

"What are you doing here?" I ask full of excitement.

"I figured I'd come spend my last few days of break here with my two favorite girls. Especially since one of them bailed on me."

I blush. "I'm sorry" I say feeling badly. "I just needed to be here."

"I know" he says understandingly. "I'm only messing with you Grey."

"So plans for the evening" Sam breaks in changing the subject. "Daniel told me him and Hunter don't have to work tonight so I was figuring the five of us could go out."

"Sounds good to me" Nate says.

They both look at me. I want to tell them how Hunter and I planned on staying in tonight and just being together, but I figure it's no use. Sam will win. Besides I'm also being a coward. I had plans to tell Hunter everything tonight since we would be alone but that wasn't happening now. Part of me was relieved.

"Let me call Hunter" I say. I grab my phone and walk into my room. I smile when he picks up on the first ring.

"What's wrong?" he asks concern filling his voice.

"Nothing" I tell him as I hide a smile. I liked that he worried about me so much. It meant he cared. "Sam came back early and brought Nate with her, so naturally she wants us all to go out tonight. Is that okay? I know we had plans on staying in."

"Yea that's fine" he says. "No use in fighting that girl" he adds and I can hear the smile in his voice.

"Very true" I tell him. "Most people don't catch on so quickly."

"I'm not most people" he quips back and I smile again.

"So are you on your way back soon?" I ask hopefully. I hate being away from him.

"I was but I can give you guys some time to catch up" he says.

"You don't have to do that" I tell him although I'm touched by his thoughtfulness.

"It's not a problem" he tells me not getting just how badly I want him here.

"Alright" I say giving in. "Come over around six then. You can hang with Nate while Sam and I get ready. I'm sure he'll love the company otherwise Sam bugs him endlessly about girl things."

He laughs but even through the phone I can tell something's wrong. I feel my heart begin to race but before I can ask a word he speaks. "Alright, I'll see you at six. Later Grey."
