Chapter Six
Get off my bed!
You’d think Trench would have learned his lesson after that incident in the bathroom two days ago? No, the moron keeps coming back for more threats from me. Unavoidable of course seeing that we ultimately shared every class.
“Hey Marty is Summer be in your house later?” Trench inquired across the table, getting really frustrated that I drop the work excuse again so I won’t go out with him.
“Yeah she and Charles. It’s Friday and the girl needed to party” Marty replied, grinning at my scowling face.
“Good” Trench appreciated and smiled down at me.
It was the end of class and the basketball team hadn’t had any practice which means Charles and I will going to stay in the shop until eight. We can go home first, freshen up a bit before going to this house party Marty organized.
I let Charles drive while I let Mandy’s head used my lap as a pillow. She waited for two hours again and the kid was exhausted waiting for us.
“Sum is Trench your boyfriend now?” she asked.
My eyes popped open while Charles smirked. “No, Mandy he is just an annoying nemesis of mine.”
“He is nice though he always give me chocolate,” she muttered, “and he pulled a fat kid away from me when he saw me getting bullied.”
“Someone bullied you little sis?” Charles inquired angrily.
“Yeah but ever since Trench lifted the boy upside down they left me alone now” Mandy answered.
I was just speechless. Trench doing deeds behind my back and helping my favorite sister in the world stopped someone bullying her? Wow. He is so annoying most of the time but hmm…. Okay let’s consider sweet here. I still know how to appreciate what he had done no matter how his attitude fired me off the ceiling.
We stopped in front of the close shop. Wait what close shop? Charles and I stared at each other, the shop never close this early not unless the five hundred cupcakes mom’s bake is sold. Sold already at this early time?
Charles opened his door and hopped outside. Mandy and I followed him as he approached the glass door and opened it.
“Mom! Dad!” he shouted. My eyes stared in surprise that there are no cupcakes in sight.
“In here!” dad shouted.
They were in the kitchen cleaning up now. Twenty trays, the mixers, whip, spoon and mixing bowls. Mom was now throwing the papers they had used.
“We are the cupcakes?” Charles inquired, blinking stupidly.
“Oh someone bought it” mom told us, she was smiling happily. We know the shop never had a blow out like this. It’s too early to close.
“Bought every dam pieces?” Charles pressed on. I sighed at his smiling face I know for the fact that he was rejoicing because he can have a long break in his room while waiting for the night to come and go partying in the Solomers. Marty’s house.
“Yep, I bought it,” said a voice behind us. I nearly jumped in fright when Trench joined in.
“What the hell are you doing in here?!” I growled when I saw he was wearing that persistent smile again.
“Well I can’t meet you in Saturday to finish that lab report so I asked your parents if it’s okay if I stay in your house while we try to finish that up” he replied casually.
