Chapter 59
Trench POV
The Oncology department of the hospital was shockingly packed with patients and their visitors. It's sad to see the reality these people are facing each day. There is no words existed to describe the heaviness I feel right now. I don't even know these people but they did affect me. All around I can see force smile, cheers and content, but their eyes says it all what their inner emotions are. Every parent, friend and sibling shared the same expression in front of their very ill loveone. It's heartbreaking to see.
This is the scene Summer always witness when she visit her friend? No wonder she donated the change of my one hundred dollar bill when I had my snack in their cupcake shop. She could have saved that one to help her with daily expenses, but she donated it without hesitation.
"We don't know where we'll find money for her next chemotherapy; we've sold our cars, some appliances, and jewelries, our bank account drained, and my other kids' supposed to be college fund gone now." I can hear a mother saying to another mother. Both seemed to have a child confined here.
And look at the people confined in here....
Bald head, thin body, wasted skin, in wheelchair, in masks, in oxygen, in IV, and in pain.
I sucked a deep breath to contain my emotions.
"Excuse me nurse," I called the attention of the one in the front desk, scribbling notes in some chart.
She look up and plastered a warm smile. "What can I help you, sir?" the forty year old looking nurse asked me.
"I want to offer a donation for these patients, make sure every single person have their chemotherapy for a year. And...."I put my hand inside my coat pocket while the open mouthed nurse stared at me, waiting and maybe probably guessing if I was just bluffing. "Please contact the number here in my business card once one year is up. And call the number before you forward the bills spent," I offered her my exclusive business card that only important people has.
"Crevestovik...." she gasped when she read the information written in the card. "Oh you're you're the the CEO of Moore Company!" she shuttered.
"Yes. Please keep it as a secret, " I favored to her.
"Of course, sir."
"Good. And I needed another favor,"
"Anything sir,"
"Where's Valerie Curry's room?" I asked.
"Oh... Ms. Curry! Down the hall private room three," she was very enthusiastic giving the information.
"Thank you. Please tell the doctors who are handling the patients what I told you before you tell," I looked at the visitors, "before you inform them. Make it as soon as possible. "
"I'm making a phone call right away, Mr. Crevestovik, "
I nodded and proceed walking to where Ms. Curry is. Once I arrived in front of her room, the door opened and came out is Mr. Curry. I've still remember this business associate of my father. Why wouldn't I, I was there when my dad dropped off his threats in front of the people important to his company.
Mr. Curry's fave looks so stressful but when he recognize who is blocking his way, he immediately froze for a minute before the hatred shown in his very tired face.
"You!" he growled angrily.
"It's nice to see again Mr. Curry," I greeted, not at all faze with his anger. We hate a common person and that is my father.
