Sweats accumulated on his forehead while seconds tick by the minute. His adams apple bobbing up and down, a sign that the pressure of our expected glare made him frightful. Even strangers would feel the unfriendly tension if all the Crevestovik are staring directly at one who had been keeping something worth sharing for. Travis and Trench were actually wearing a menacing glare, enough to make my brother shiver in fear. There will be a lot of explaining to do, and Charles better explain everything to us.

I couldn't judge him right now, because I know there is something out of proportion with his connection with the people that keeps inflicting threat in our lives especially my daughter. Not even once I notice Charles acting strange in front of us. No aggravation ever written in his face. And why the hell would he back stabbed his family and betray me painfully? There's no way he would want Myles, his very own beloved niece, in danger. He loves Myles so much, he vowed to protect her with his own life.

"It's not what you think, I swear right in front of you I had nothing to do with Austin Moore ever since..." he stuttered so bad I had a hard time digesting his words.

"Ever since what?!" Trench's hissing fit made Charles flinch in fear. "Charles, I'll be straight with you. Your status right now is questionable. Better start telling us the truth or so help me god I would forget who you are to Summer and Myles."

This pronouncement seemed to shake my family in anxiety. The situation is getting out of hands, and I know Travis plus a very protective Trench are a combo lethal to challenge. We all know what the males are capable of when it comes to the safety of their love ones. No one would doubt how they will punish everyone who offended them.

"I... I was pissed off that day...when...when he and this Flick guy cornered me in the elevator of your building," he mumbled.

"When was this day?" Trench was losing his temper with the way he clutches Sage in his chest. He was trying to keep himself in check using our baby boy. 

The question somehow caused my brother to loosen a bit his fear and replaced with a bitter feeling. The contortions of his face shows tight jaw clenching.

"The day when you kick me off your stupid office. The time when you and Sum weren't still okay," he spat sourly. "Once I left the office and bee lined toward the elevator, they just came joining me and gave me their sympathy. Austin invited me for a quick drink, said he had something I might want to hear. So I went with the two with my thoughts still clouded on what had happened in that office of yours.

"We proceeded into this exclusive bar and we discussed...." he trailed off. 

"Discussed what exactly?" Trench pressed on.

"They shared how they know what I was feeling that time, how you stripped and stomped their dream job and the way you treated them like a low life scum. They propose this revenge thing against you, said if I joined in we might succeed taking what you had took from us. And I was like nodding with whatever ideas they came up just to get back at the humiliation I endured from you.

"But I cut them off when they started suggesting using Sum as our bait, because they know you still had feelings for my sister. I didn't want any involvement of Sum at any cost when it comes to you. Me knowing already that you had been missing years without the knowledge of having a daughter with my sister is enough to smile about. I know you would eagerly try to reconnect with them if ever you had that opportunity to be in feet wide of Sum.

"Cruel it may seem that time, baiting you with a tiny bit of puzzle and seeing you struggling to mull over about that, was something I celebrated a bit. Knowing something so precious you don't know, already made me content. So that's why I shut Austin and Flick's sick suggestion of revenge against you. Because I know deep down inside me even if I won't join them, my revenge was at my hands without you noticing it.
