Chapter Eleven

Really, Summy  I’m a good guy

We end up sleeping in the shop last night to finish the last order from last mom had taken. It was like a two hours sleep for Charles and I while we help mom sort everything out. Dad and her will deliver the orders after our breakfast.

I stormed inside the bathroom to freshen up for the day ahead of me. School! It’s a good thing it’s Friday and that means I can sleep the whole day tomorrow.

Shower time was finished and I was like jumping up and down to get my dress on me. The time in my phone told me I got only eight minutes before the first warning bell.

“CHARLES!! MANDY!!! LET’S GO WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!!!” I yelled outside the house. Seconds later both of them went out and ran inside the car. I drove like a maniac for the first time in my life. The clock telling us we only got five minutes to spare. I blew the traffic lights, praying that no patrol cops come stopping us for a ticket. I parked noisily on the parking lot and flew out of the door together with Charles and Mandy when the bell started to ring.

I was breathless, sweaty and nearly late when I entered the class. Mrs. Crab already in her position eyeing me as I walked to my seat.

“You looked so tired” Trench whispered to me.

“Maybe because I am” I replied, taking my notes out and start coping with that crab of a teacher who is now erasing what she just written. Lady come on, slow down you Fast and Furious maniac! Really this annoying crab really transformed into this cruel teacher. You know her left have the eraser and her right had the pen. Once she started writing something in the board you needed twenty seconds to dash writing whatever she had written. If you won’t speed up you will left having incomplete notes by the end of the subject.

“Maybe you needed to take it slow since you have another option earning money” he mumbled.

“Maybe you should just drop it off and find someone who can make you happy” I snapped.

“I already did but she is stubborn enough to not try the offer I’m giving her. I thought our make out would be enough to lure her but she keeps pushing me away” he replied.

I sighed. Honestly, I keep thinking about that every time I sleep or every time I saw him, but that didn’t really preoccupy my mind, not since I have so much things to occupy myself with.

He slid a piece of paper under me and pushed it in my hand. I looked at it and there was numbers written in it. His number maybe.

“Call me anytime you want” he muttered, before he turned back his attention in front.

I pocketed the number and focus my attention too at Mrs. Crab. It won’t hurt saving his number since we are in this crisis again.

The next two classes before lunch blur in my eyes, but all I can remember was taking notes of the lesson in perfection. That would be the first because I needed to focus my attention hard as diamond. I mean I was trying to bag one of the scholarships the school gives. I just hope I can make it.

“Hey Sum you coming to the beach party tonight?” Hanley asked me once I was in my seat around the table for lunch.

“I’m kinda tired so I needed to crash in early” I replied truthfully. Mom told us she will close the shop today so we can have our rest after the afternoon class ends.

“That’s exactly what Charles reasoned out,” Danny stated. “You two ditching us now?”

I looked at Danny when he said the word ditching, he and Gin were the ones ditching Charles. “No Dan, we turned off pretty late last night. I almost skip school today just for me to rest, but I force myself to come. That’s how tired I am okay, and Charles too.”
